Glitched Misc Quests. This is going to be a long one!

These are the tasks listed in my "to-do" Miscellaneous Quest list that won't move to the greyed-out "done" list.
1. Kill the leader of Uttering Hills Camp.
Because this is an area in the game which was part of either a main quest line or some sort of quest other than miscellaneous the leader is already dead. The area apparently does not completely respawn so the miscellaneous quest handed out by an innkeeper etc. cannot be completed and therefore remains in the inventory.
I've been up there into the frozen wastes, disposed of the forerunner bandits and when I got into the Bandit Leader's bedroom, he wasn't there, although his map marker was and still remains there if you switch the quest back on. There is no leader to kill.
2. Find a copy of The Children of The Sky.
If you have already found a copy of this prior to to being requested to go look for it by Urag gro-Shrub, when you take any copy of the several available it doesn't register with the character so the quest remains in the inventory.
3. Report success to Jervar.
At some point at Whiterun Stables a guy called Jervar asks you to "rough up" his mate on the quiet, ie no witnesses. Been there, done it and reported back but the quest again will not move out of the to-do list.
4. Kill the leader of Red Eagle Redoubt.
My god, how many times do you have to do this one! Not only is this quest a popular Jarl favour, it seems that everytime you read "The Legend of The Red Eagle", of which there seems to be more copies of than the bloody Bible, this quest gets repeated but the leader does not respawn.
You even repeat the Red Eagle's Bane bit although, because Rebel's Cairn is stripped bare and doesn't respawn, its pointless going through the extra trip from Red Eagle Redoubt, through Red Eagle Tower, Sundered Towers and finally Rebel's Cairn. The sword doesn't do anything after the completion of the prior Dungeon Quest of the same name.
5. Speak to Degain, (in Solitude).
Don't know what this is about. I remember nicking a Statue of Dibella for this vagrant in Markarth ages ago and completing that little bit. All he does now when I approach him is ask for money! There doesn't appear to be a further quest but again, the quest remains in my to-do inventory.
6. Find the Word of Power in Arcwind Point.
This is the most recent pain.
I approached this already discovered place by quick travel. I was coming in from the top of the steps and was immediately attacked by a dragon. I defeated the dragon and then went after the aggressive Draugher in the circular area at the head of the valley. I thought that the circular construction was an entrance to some sort of underground crypt, (most of the similar ones are), but it turned out to be just a circular hole with steps down to a dead end. Disappointing.
I pushed forward to the massive quad-arc like structure where I was attacked again by skelingtons and other dead guys and a Dragon Priest. Having seen them off, I went up to the Word Wall and received it.
This is the point at which the map marker should have disappeared and the quest completion notice should have flashed up, but it didn't. The map marker remained just in front of the Word Wall.
I continued up to the tower and defeated the last of the dead guys but the marker remained. So does this mean that Arngeir won't be giving me anymore Word Wall locations?
I'd appreciate anybody's comments and help and if it possible to clear down my quest list please let me know.
