Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

Can't seem to find any trace, so for those who haven't already heard: link. I'd also note that a Q2 release would make sense in the context of Morrowind's 15th anniversary.

From what's been datamined, it looks like ZOS could have a great content update in the works, with both nods to Morrowind (e.g. inclusion of Seyda Neen) and to the lore (e.g. exclusion of Imperial settlements, Vivec Foreign Quarter).

I haven't played ESO in quite a while, but this would be something that would certainly prompt me to revisit. It's certainly the closest we're going to get to an official remake, and it has great potential to add to the existing body of Morrowind-related lore.

Yeah, we know: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Vvardenfell
Exclusion of Imperial Settlements? Well, I clearly see something at the location of Seyda Neen, Caldera, and Fort Firemoth (the names Seyda Neen and Firemoth even being present in the game files), although these are supposed to be imperial settlements not founded until much later...

Thought it should have been abundantly clear I was referring to the Forums, not the Wiki ...

From the files that have been revealed, what you're seeing at the location Caldera later comes to occupy seem to be the Hlaalu and Redoran settlements that predate the Imperial town.

Any thoughts on the news from yesterday? Mind you, we already knew most of this.

Personally, I thought the trailer itself, as a video, was well-done. And it had a bear,
always a plus for me. :^)

It's set in Vvardenfel, like the game Morrowind. And thus it's called Morrowind. It should REALLY be called Vvardenfel. Especially since we've been tromping about a good deal of the rest of Morrowind. Does it not count now?

Still, really curious about the new class.

I can't wait til June! Already preordered (which is rare for me)

Aside from the nostalgia factor, it's good to see ZOS adding a new class, something many MMO developers are too afraid to do because of balance. Bodes well for the future of the game.

Damn, I was thinking of coming back to ESO after leaving very shortly after launch... "oh they're having a new DLC...set in Vvardenfel...and releasing a new class...and is that a Dwemer construct statue!"
Yeah, already pre-ordered the collector's edition... the statue calls to me.. and full cloth map... time to dig up my account.

Warden sounds intriguing, though the bear doesn't interest me, hopefully other summons aren't just the generic fantasy animal summons (aka wolf, bear, eagle), give the people guars or Durzogs (ice wraiths?!?)
It's very close to a character I did for Skyrim based around a Skaal Shaman that I loved.

Honestly, I'm wondering if the warden will be some form of a melee/magic class, similar to say a spellsword. Maybe not so much another tank or DPS >_> but very well another avenue for a support class I.e generating buffs and boosting allies defenses/negating damage.

Same. Hit me right in the feels, especially the theme at the end of the trailer. Haven't played ESO in months, so I'm actually glad to have a reason to revisit, what with so many other changes that have been introduced over the last year or so.

I'm inclined to say there probably won't be many melee focused skills per se (more of a bard/jack of all trades, mastor o' none), the trailer does seem to be reinforcing that archetype.
I could see the animal companion tree being a combination of the obvious summoning and party buffing (shouts/roars/auras/etc) with the possibility of benefits towards tanking (either through sharing damage/aggro or just buffs). Ice definitely seems like the dps focus for the class, with potential for debuffer/AoE or defense/tank benefits. Nature will hopefully be more then just straight healing, stronger focus on HoTs.

Regardless, the class is definitely giving me early WoW druid vibes, just ice instead of arcane and controlling animals instead of being animals.

I'm excited to see Vivec City at its beginning, given that as long as we don't get another prequel to a main series title, it is completely and utterly destroyed in current day lore.
That last shot of the trailer with the Red Mountain looming over Vivec/ministry of truth was great, just an awesome shot (Though the proportions/distances are certainly odd)).

Is that Redguard wearing a modified Mercenary armour (with pauldrons on both shoulders)?

You mean the warden in the trailer? it's the special warden armor, I think

Why would there be a special Warden armour when there's no special Sorcerer, Nightblade, Templar or Dragonknight armour?

Maybe there will be.

That would be a cool crafting motif, one for each class, to really deliver the class's flavor, no matter the armor weight.

There's no listing anywhere on any of the preorder pages of any "Warden armour". It'd also go completely against their principle that every race and class can use any armour or weapon.

it is a costume, and of course can be worn by anyone. But still it is labeled belonging to the warden.

Yeah, really not a fan of the name. It's gonna be a bit of a nightmare for the wiki.

It's just bear summons for the ultimate ability. Guar and ice wraiths already exist as vanity pets.
