Last time I posted one of these the RP forum was in a state of resurgence; now things have slowed a little to a comfortable rhythm, so let's see how things have changed. Feel free to add and omit questions at your leisure.

For me? Nora having the body of a villian taken to the Hall of the Dead

What RP has kept you up thinking when you're trying to sleep?
Hehehe.. too many

How do you explain RPing to your friends, if at all?
Its like writing a book with 12 other authors and a dominatrix

TA2/Rook: Alot of death, just lots

Creating Caius and not thinking.

What is your biggest regret regarding roleplaying?
Not having Maurzol turn into a werewolf when I had the chance.. he may of lived too
How have you improved in RP'ing?
Far more complex characters with better acting and actually interesting personas

How can you improve in RP'ing?
Shorter sheets and posts, but as if that'll happen

What character of yours helped you get out of your 'comfort zone' for roleplaying? Kel'nii from Champ's Song. Also Nammu, in some sense

Vault 54!

WoD was pretty damn fun while it lasted.

Diesel & Demons is pretty awesome.

Who is your favorite character that you've created?
Toss up between Mumph and Grelok gro-Gluk. Mumph, I had a lot of interesting (at least I think so) plans and ideas for, though failed to execute them properly, and he kinda, y'know, died before they were realized. Grelok...heheh. He hasn't quite hit his stride, yet, but he is going to be fun to play.

Who is your least favorite character that you've created?
Ezekiel Stone. Blech. Bland macho mercenary. Rot in pieces.

Who is your favorite character that someone else has created?
Ooooh. Toss up between Union's Arthas and Aarah's Eolwyn.

Harry. Little too talky, little too "murder!, death!, rape!"-y.

Who is your favorite DM?
y u make me choose. My heart can't pick favourites. Kerr, Union, I <3 u both

What is your biggest general RPing pet peeve?
Characters (players) being a little too tolerant of severe character flaws or actions of other characters. If I ever have a character who openly, brazenly attempts to murder someone with little to no justification, feel free to blow my character's head off on the spot. Because I'd do the same to yours, in such a situation!

Players, what is your pet peeve DM injustice?
Hm, maybe...linearity? While structure is important, so too is player choice.

If you favor a certain gender (or something in between or a lack thereof) with your characters, why? Why not?
Nah. I used to favour males, because I didn't really feel...comfortable roleplaying females/xans, for some reason. But now, I don't really care. Just needs to be a fun, interesting character.

Interesting stuff happening between Dorian and Valentia hahaha

Tobias, but I wouldn't call it "hate" WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS, YA GROUCHY OLD MAN. But staying truer to the question, ...Dorian. Haha.

Best antagonist?
Uhh, obviously Vayniah Linvail. She may not have been a primary antagonist, but she was fun as hell to help write, and you all enjoyed her.

Who were you glad to see die?
Harry. Sorrynotsorry

Who were you sad to see die?
Umm, any and all innocents aboard the pirate ship that Grelok inadvertently destroyed. RIP that one girl. Also, Maurzol.

Who had the best-written death scene?
Malvirian Linvail, DIEEEE PIRATE-KING!

What was the most epic battle?
THE SIEGE OF WINDHELM

What was the tensest moment?
Trying to keep Lin Bohai alive in Vault 54, right at the end XD kept getting disarmed, until I remembered that last weapon I had.

What was the most morally 'good' thing a character has done?
I don't really know. Grelok would call it morally stupid that he stayed to fight in a city under siege, instead of hightailing it to Riften.

What was the most morally 'evil' thing a character has done?
The long standing record is still the murder of a child in Vault 54. But recently? Hmm. Well, Rick sure wasn't very nice to Bo and his friend. Hahah.

What RP has kept you up thinking when you're trying to sleep?
All of them. Seriously.

How do you explain RPing to your friends, if at all?
Roleplaying is writing a story co-operatively with other people, where your contribution is your character and their actions. You act as that character would act, and generally just enjoy whatever setting and events unfold; both those DM-planned events, and those brought about by you and your fellow players.

Who are two characters from any RP setting that would go good together, romantically or just as a friendship duo?
Lodds and Harry as squishy, rotting lovers. ...No. Uh, I could see Grelok and Eolwyn being good friends (or more?), or...Guo and Elisa. Girlfrieeeends.

If you had to take one of your characters and put them in a different RP setting, who and where would they go?
ANYONE from Diesel & Demons to GWN. Multiple forces of armed bad guys to fight? A mage should even the odds! >:D

If you could take control of someone else's character in exchange for control of one of your own, who would you trade for?
Lucas, GWN. I need to play a more morally upstanding character, gimme. XD

How do you predict the plot will advance in one of the RP's you're in?
Diesel: Ghosts are sad! Give ghost peace! Bring their relatives to console them, or destroy the anchor. Go back to Howard, get new lead, follow up lead. Queue violence, because there hasn't been much/any of that yet.

What's the biggest honest mistake you've made when roleplaying?
That weird godmoddy stuff I pulled when I started in V54 >> I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING, BUT I LEARNED

What is your biggest regret regarding roleplaying?
Not asking more questions when I started >>

How have you improved in RP'ing?
Uhhh, in every conceivable way. Writing dialogue, writing characters, writing actions, ...I'm very very far from where I was at first, thankfully.

How can you improve in RP'ing?
Maybe more variation and depth to my characters.

Coolest character name?
Magnus Kill'slay, obviously. But second to that, I enjoy the alliteration that is Grelok gro-Gluk.

What character of yours helped you get out of your 'comfort zone' for roleplaying?
Guo. First female character of mine, I believe.

Niralie

Who is your least favorite character that you've created?
So far, Khazi. Though I quite like her as a character, she's kind of hard to play since she isn't real chatty and doesn't like to get involved in things. I'm also still at the point yet where I'm still getting a feel for how she reacts to things.

Who is your favorite character that someone else has created?
I liked Arellius from TA2. Him being the "black sheep" of the group made things interesting, created a bit of variety in the group, and made for some good interactions between characters. He was a good contrast to Niralie and Valentia.

Who is your least favorite character that someone else has created? (Remember, keep it limited to constructive criticism only please).
Hodor from TA2. It feels like he wasn't a serious character, just made to be over-the-top and "funny".

Who is your favorite DM?
Ooh, hard to say. I'm really not sure. I've liked pretty much everyone who's DMed the ones I'm in.

What is your biggest general RPing pet peeve?
When someone goes for long periods of time without posting - or even just drops out - when their character is in the middle of a scene. It makes things difficult for the other players not knowing how to work with it. At least write some sort of reason for them to leave the scene or something.

Players, what is your pet peeve DM injustice?
Can't think of any

If you favor a certain gender (or something in between or a lack thereof) with your characters, why? Why not?
I've done only female characters so far. In gaming too, not just RPs, I almost always play female characters because I relate to them a lot more.

What is your favorite romance or friendship, whether cheesy or serious, RPed by other players?
I like Eolwyn and Grelok's friendship. They're a strange combination but they go well together and make a good team.

What is your favorite romance or friendship you have been a part of?
My characters haven't really been in a lot, but maybe Niralie and Tia's friendship simply because they've been through so much together and can really depend on one another.

Who was your favorite DM-created character?
Hmm.... maybe Elethir from TA2. He's a good guy.

What character do you love to hate?
I'd say Dorian. He's an annoying/fun character.

Best antagonist?
I haven't seen many in the RPs yet and none of them particularly stood out compared to the others

Who were you glad to see die?
Hodor

Who were you sad to see die?
Arellius, because as mentioned he's one of my favorite player characters and I'd have liked to see how things played out with our group, see the friendships slowly form and him slowly learning to care for people, which is something that Velvet had originally planned.

Who had the best-written death scene?
Per, hands down. That scene made me sad.

What was the most epic battle?
Hard to say, there've been a lot of good ones. Some standouts are the final one in S&S, (against the lich), and the Windhelm battle in TA2.

What was the tensest moment?
When Nandrnil cast his blizzard spell at Niralie, which is probably the closest she's come to dying (though she's come close several times, lol.) I had my fingers crossed that Velvet's dice roll for her would be a good one.

What was the most morally 'good' thing a character has done?
Probably Niralie going to look for the innkeeper's daughter.

What was the most morally 'evil' thing a character has done?
The Debt-Collector raping and killing the [&@%!] that Arellius was with. Poor girl had done nothing, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

What RP has kept you up thinking when you're trying to sleep?
TA2

How do you explain RPing to your friends, if at all?
The only one I really talk about it with already knows what it is, but I think if I were to explain it to someone who's never heard of it I'd refer to it as collaborative story-writing, with one person guiding the plot and everyone playing a different character.

I dunno

What discontinued RP needs a reboot?
I'm kinda disappointed that the Pokemon one dropped off so early

Niralie 'cause she's my favorite character and the one I "know" best, and maybe in S&S 'cause I liked that world.

How do you predict the plot will advance in one of the RP's you're in?
I imagine in TA2 that Eolwyn, Grelok, Niralie, and Tia will continue to pursue the Threads, either as a group or split into multiple groups, and probably Dorian, Nora, and TDC will tag along with whoever they tend to get along with.

What's the biggest honest mistake you've made when roleplaying?
Probably just cases where I understood something differently than the person intended; can't think of specifics at the moment but it's happened several times.

What is your biggest regret regarding roleplaying?
Not getting into S&S earlier

How have you improved in RP'ing?
I'm better at getting into a character's mind than I used to be. It still takes a bit, but I'm miles beyond starting with a basically blank slate.

How can you improve in RP'ing?
I feel like I use certain words repeatedly since I just can't find a better way to phrase it (and synonyms don't exactly fit what I'm picturing). Also need to get better at dialogue, I think - either I'm not sure what to say, or I just have her say too much sometimes, or I feel that it just sounds a bit odd.

Coolest character name?
I really like Alindrel's name (JVEleven's character early in TA2).

What character of yours helped you get out of your 'comfort zone' for roleplaying?
Haven't had any so far, but Khazi was designed with this in mind; my characters have been generally friendly, good-aligned characters, so she's more True Neutral or Chaotic Neutral.

I'm doing it too, because freedom!

What is your favorite RP that you have participated in?
Silicon and Sorcery, yo!

Favorite recent (Last year or later) RP?
TA2. Definitely TA2. It's taken such a rad turn in the past few months.

What is your favorite original world?
Silicon & Sorcery, but Diesel & Demons is slowly growing on me.

Who is your favorite character that you've created?
Arthas overall, nothing has really dethroned him ever. Valentia, however, is super fun to play. I'll never forget Ash, and I'm really enjoying Luke too.

Also Daidoji Natsuki, but she ended up not being a thing.

Who is your least favorite character that you've created?
Mordecai. Despite him being right up my alley as far as what kinds of characters I normally play are like, I'm just really not feeling him. I want to explore him further, sure, but he needs more opportunity to shine I think.

Who is your favorite character that someone else has created?
Dorian Laennec is an absolute joy to read. I'm serious, the execution on his quips, the way he prounces about in his foppish manner... it's all done so very, very well. Well freaking done, Rook.

Hodor from TA2. Sorry man, I felt like I was reading M'aiq's nordic cousin. Katlina on the other hand is a marginal improvement.

Who is your favorite DM?
Me My main man Kerr, whose name I still need to get more used to pronouncing correctly.

What is your biggest general RPing pet peeve?
Excessive meta referencing. It really tends to break the 4th wall, and not in a fun or clever way. It's so rarely done correctly, but when it is, it's great; when it isn't, it's really jarring.

Players, what is your pet peeve DM injustice?
The DMs currently doing things are great so I can't really complain. Previously, the worst thing was absence without explanation.

I've been doing more female characters lately (one of them now dead :P) so I think I've improved in this way.

What is your favorite romance or friendship, whether cheesy or serious, RPed by other players?
I'm so totally down with how Eolwyn & Grelok are interacting. Grelok in general does great interaction.

What is your favorite romance or friendship you have been a part of?
ARTHAS AND BRONDAR BRO-COPS 4 LIEF BOIIIIIIIIII.

I really hope Valentia and Dorian can get more light-hearted interaction though, Valentia never gets to show her silly side since all the trauma and [&@%!] has happened. <3

Who was your favorite DM-created character?
Johnny the Guitar-Playing Robobrain, obviously.

What character do you love to hate?
Tabitha. Gurl, calm down. You're making it hard to keep a rigid moral compass. :P

Best antagonist?
Mr. Butler in World of Darkness. I'll be honest, I really should have seen his betrayal coming, and just kept driving. Never trust a slimy guy like that, man.

Who were you glad to see die?
Harry. Them iron lungs ain't gonna save you now, bro.

Who were you sad to see die?
Ash. I really thought that she had played everyone, but in the end she was the one that got played.

Who had the best-written death scene?
Per. It's not often that RP scenes are moving, but... :c

What was the most epic battle?
The PCs joining force on a joint attack on Malvirian during the Siege was great. Nothing beats the Dragon Fight in After Alduin, though.

What was the tensest moment?
Lucas breaking his code and shooting the ghoul in the face. That was a gamble, man.

What was the most morally 'good' thing a character has done?
The group finding Lithia and giving Elethir the bad news. They really went out of their way to soften the blow.

What was the most morally 'evil' thing a character has done?
The Debt-Collector and what he did to Arellius. What he actual hell, man.

What RP has kept you up thinking when you're trying to sleep?
TA2. Because I have to do things for it. :P

How do you explain RPing to your friends, if at all?
Most of my friends are pretty chill with it, it's not a weird or taboo thing. Then again a lot of my friends are into D&D and other tabletop stuff, so yeah.

After Alduin! I miss Ra'zhar. Also, Luada.

Alarra's work on the Tropes pages is second to none. It really stands up there with the pages for mainstream media, they just need some more tropes and stuff (go add things that fit, people, it's not entirely a one person job :P).

I would like a Grelok & Brondar combo. It'd be neat. They could babysit Arthas' kids on the weekends.

If you had to take one of your characters and put them in a different RP setting, who and where would they go?
Put Mordcai in S&S: I think he would have worked well. Or maybe Lucas in TA2 as a Priest of Mara.

If you could take control of someone else's character in exchange for control of one of your own, who would you trade for?
Give me Chris for a day in exchange for Lucas and see how well we can attempt to differentiate them. :P (To be fair, Chris was made first)

How do you predict the plot will advance in one of the RP's you're in?
I know EVERYTHING as far as where TA2 is advancing (I really don't actually, I'm still plotting... maliciously). I like to think that Diesel & Demons will go in a sort of Dragon Age: Inquisition direction, where the spirit world starts raging on the living.

What's the biggest honest mistake you've made when roleplaying?
Forgetting things. Like the time very recently when I left like 3 characters out of the proclamation of Champions.

What is your biggest regret regarding roleplaying?
Not being in Blacklight.

How have you improved in RP'ing?
My writing is getting better! Imagery and stuff isn't my strong suit so I'm really trying.

How can you improve in RP'ing?
I need to stop repeating certain words. Using one word twice in the same sentence is baaaad.

Eolwyn is a lovely name. c:

What character of yours helped you get out of your 'comfort zone' for roleplaying?
Ash is still up there for being a total evil [&@%!]. I'm still really locked in on good characters so it's nice to deviate.

Probably TA2

I'm liking Diesel&Demons, but Luada too

Eolwyn, she's my first character (in an rp that last more than a month or so)

Sherwood in KIRIN's Thunder. The rp is still pretty new and I'm not really giving him much character. He's kind of just a 'nice guy' at the moment, so needs more dimension.

I'd have to say Grelok gro-Gluk.

Romance: N/A (oh, there was that unreciprocated 'romance' in one of the MB games).

Guo. I like her 'sweetness and light', goody-goody personality, that I feel hides a tyrant underneath!

The Chinese ghouls in Fallout. They didn't deserve it.

I wasn't in TA2 then, but Per's character's death was sad.

Waiting to see if the Chinese ghouls would live or be murdered.

Different ones, it depends what's going on in the plot/dialog at the time.

Like playing a character in a movie, but you do it via text.

No one, cos everyone's characters have there own aura in them, and if we were to swap then that character wouldn't be that character anymore.

GODMODDERS! Being told that my characters are [&@%!] and never ever hearing about the good ones. Fortunately, it's been a good year or so since that has happened. DMs playing favourites and players abandoning RPs without any notice. It can ruin a scene, it can kill a RP. My Gladiator RP died before i could even get to the first fight and that was annoying. Out of Character Comments being in the RP. It disrupts it. By that, i mean any that are not hidden.
DMs, what is your biggest pet peeve your mindless subjects commit?
Arguing with me about why their overpowered character should be allowed. Gladiator, i can't remember who and i won't name them if i do remember. Someone submitted a questionable character. Somehow, this young character had become second to the Archmage despite there being no experience. No backstory and generally a poor character. They insisted that it was reasonable but without a backstory and the adjustments i wanted to be made. Mainly eliminating the whole second to Archmage angle and requesting some things to be changed, they refused to accept my decision. Even when i told them that 3 lines is not a backstory, they seemed to get upset and quit. Granted, i am inexperienced as a DM but i felt i was fair. With the help of some other DMs. Again, i won't mention names. GODMODDERs but the biggest pet peeve is ABANDONING THE [&@%!] RP WITHOUT INFORMING ME THUS KILLING IT BEFORE IT CAN EVEN START! YOU [&@%!]! I am of course, joking and hold no ill will towards anyone. But abandoning RPs annoys me and puts DMs into a position where they have to decide if it's worth continuing or not.

Players, what is your pet peeve DM injustice?
Not being allowed a Liberty Prime. COME ON, KERR! I only want to a 50ft robot that throws nukes! You are being such a synth about it!

The restless dead and US clash and both sides are either weakend or the dead are truely dead. Rick kills Cooper. He gets confronted by Chris if Chris's feelings starts to overwhelm him. Kerr throws a twist in, we have to stop that twist.
TA2: Apart from the threads and potential murders by their holders, i couldn't tell you.
D&D: We outlive our usefulness or we are betrayed.
DAR: Mira and Solen help free everyone. Big fight with Gideon then Union reveals that this was just the tutiorial level. The next level involves an army of Gideons.

That said, I haven't played many explicitly trans characters, most characters their gender identity never really comes up, though I am planning on playing a trans woman at some point in the nearish future if it suits because eh, why not?

I really enjoyed the relationship Chris had with Kat in Blacklight and then how that developed once she died and was replaced a a demon. Like he really hated the demon at first because Kat died but eventually they got along.

The child murder in Vault 54. Although Ash in World of Darkness did absord someone's soul to make herself more powerful, Rick straight up murdered two people, a character in They Came From Beyond The Stars! killed a kitten and Caius tortured folks.

One's I'm GMing as I try to think up what to do. It isn't uncommon for me to pick up my phone and jot down ideas for things that can happen.

It would be really interesting to see what Nate would be like in Kirin's Thunder and what Viktor would be like in The Next Group. They're both superpowered individuals in 'Superhero' RPs but they're pretty different.

Some people aren't going to like how Anti-Templar Ingrid is once we all get together. Particularly the Templar.

Viktor is an amoral [&@%!] so, that's a change of pace. But Ingrid gets me out of my comfort zone in a different way in that she's deeply religious. I'm irreligious and religion doesn't play a role in the life of most of my characters so having a character for whom religion is very important and their religious beliefs have a huge impact on their world view and behavior does get me out of my comfort zone.

GMs - All going well, what kind of RP would you love to run someday?

Seeing as a number of you want a S&S 2 I thought I should comment on it. I currently have no plans to run S&S 2 but I really want to run an Eclipse Phase or Eclipse Phase style RP some day. It's set a bit further ahead than S&S was in terms of when it's set and technology. It's a space-faring transhumanist post-cyberpunk sci-fi RPG and yeah, I really love it. But if you want another Cyberpunk RP, it's almost certainly going to happen someday because I love Cyberpunk that much,

Also I really want to run a traditional fantasy game some day, almost certainly TES because I like and am familiar with the setting and I love Daedra. There are so many fun things a GM can do with Daedra and I'd want to include numerous Princes.

If you are a DM, what is your favorite RP you have ever created?
I'm really proud of the work I've done for the C&G reboot (Coming Soon), but while I've been working on that, another idea popped into my head. The best way I could describe it is that it was inspired by TSO's World of Night, Blacklight, Bloodborne, and The Witcher franchise. The tough part here is deciding which to run first, because I could probably run both but I'd want to get one underway before I launched the other.

Any original universe from POMC or Kerr is great. Also, S&S is probably the most meticulously detailed RP I've ever seen.

The short and dirty Reachman from TA2. Incredibly deep character with a tragic backstory and amazing dialogue. Seriously though, Dorian Laennec.

Clavicus Vile granting PCs a wish could be really fun but most wish stories I've heard from RPGs are about how everything got completely derailed.

Like, what the hell would you do then? It's not like teleporting you to another continent would be something Clavicus Vile would be unable to do, but granting that wish means you may as well kiss all your notes and establishment so far goodbye.
