Tiber Septim's race.

I'm just gonna put this out there. Talos was his nickname, Tiber Septim a name he adopted and Hjalti his birthname, I'm pretty sure we have already established that he was Nord. Atlest in part. Agnorith, brother of Talos and Father of Empress Kintyra I, does not sound so Nordic to me. Is it possible that Hjalti was infact half Breton? We know he was from Alcaire in High Rock, and Agnorith does sound Breton to me. Most of the Third Era Emperors was in fact Bretons. Tell me what you think.

I'm going to go piece by piece here so this may be kind of long.

Judging from this I assume you subscribe to the The Arcturian Heresy's account of events? Remember that there is more than one account of what happened, so many things that are "known" about Talos are disputed, although The Arcturian Heresy does get a boost by way of The Ghost of Old Hroldan.

I'm probably missing something obvious, but the only source I saw that definitively said he was a Nord was Heimskr  . Most other sources either say he was born in Atmora (which may or may not make him a Nord), or say he was born in High Rock (which may or may not make him a Nord/Breton).

It is possible, and slightly hilarious as that would make him ~1/4 Mer. What's interesting to note is when Talos does decide to appear in the flesh, he chooses to go as an Imperial.

Hjalti Early-Beard sounds like a Nord name, though. Then again, we have Dunmer with Argonian names, so names do not necessarily indicate race.

There can be a Game Theory episode about this. But according to some scholars, the best known answers can be:

1) Nord- Tiber Septim was said to be Talos and Nords call him by his Nord Name.
2)Breton- Elves and Fools believe that he was a Breton and so he did not descend to Sovngarde. Sounds like a stupid statement made by elves to call him not a God.
3) Imperial- No comment.

My belief is that Talos was born under the name of Hjalti Early-Beard to the forsworn. His father was a nord and his mother mas a breton. The rest is explained by Shoddycast.

The Forsworn weren't a thing until the Fourth Era, and there aren't any Reachmen in Alcaire.

Mistake: Tiber Septim was not born as a Forsworn.
Theory: Tiber Septim was a hybrid and was rejected by either races and thus he was left by his mother.

What i believe is that his father might have been Breton, and his mother a Nord. The offspring of two different races always takes the main traits from its mother. But considering the fact that he wasn't at sovngard during the events of skyrim might mean that his parents roles were vice-versa, OR that he didn't like to stay put. Being a god and all that.

So basically how half-elves are treated in Tales of Symphonia? But Tiber Septim still overcame hardship and became Emperor of all Tamriel.

Talos is a half Breton half Nord. Not a half elf, 1/4th elf. more likely 23.876% elf. You know how long it took me to do this calculation?!

1.41 seconds!

I hold that Imperials are an offshoot population of Nords formed by the limited gene pool of an enslaved population. An Imperial is not much more than a Nord who lost their hardiness against the cold due to a little inbreeding.

Lost a little fur, gained a few brain cells. Fair trade-off really.

Imperials are more like the descendants of Tiber Septim. They are half nords half bretons.

The Imperial race pre-dates Tiber Septim by quite a bit, and there is no elven blood in them so they don't have any Breton in them either. They are, according to the wiki, descendants of Nibenese tribesman, Nedes and Cyro-Nords.

If elvish blood was not needed, it would not be copied in the next gene. It's called genetics.

That's not genetics.

In TES, people take after their mother. That's not genetics, either.

I hold that Hjalti was a Nord. It's possible his father was a Breton though.

Imperials interbreed with Tamrielic human natives and later the Tsaesci.

As men are native to Atmora, there's no such thing as a tamrielic human native...

We can't say that with authority. The Kothringi were native to Tamriel, and the Redguards to Yokuda.

I bet there are [&@%!] stories of sorceress summoning a daedra to satisfy her out there in Tamriel.

As for race, Tiber Septim is a deity now, and it qualifies as a race. If deities are not bound to the flow of the time, then Tiber Septim has always existed as a deity, therefore it was always his race.

The gods in this series are mortal. They are very much subject to time (one minute they're holding a powwow in a lofty tower, the next minute they're shaping Lorkhan's nostrils into the Jerall Mountains).

Higher Daedra, though, aren't subject to the time. Not like they are gods.
