Strictly in my opinion, and without dissing anybody else's preferences:
PC - with all DLC and endless amounts of mods.

The PS3 has some optimization issues with this game that I am not sure have been patched out, making it the most unappealing choice. Beyond that, assuming you have a decent enough computer to run it, which isn't the hardest thing to get, then the PC is the best choice due to the benefits the modding community and access to the console provide. I'm not sure what else there is to consider beyond which platforms you have. If you only have one, get it on that one, but if you have more than one, or all three, the order I'd choose them is:
PC for the continued community support after release
Xbox 360 for its superior optimization on that platform
PS3 if no other option is available
If I am missing any details about Xbox 360 or PS3 versions being on more equal footing now as far as optimization goes, then those two would be more on more equal footing. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else there is to consider besides personal preference or technical literacy (and technical literacy only to a very minor degree).

I have it on 360, my friend has it on ps3. mine loads faster during the loading screens, and sometimes his game freezes up on a loading screen, I haven't had that problem. I'd say 360 is better than ps3 for Skyrim. PC lets you use mods and stuff, so if your computer can handle it, pc would be best. if your comp is old or not very good performance-wise, 360 is the next best.

PC
I would have stopped playing Skyrim long time ago without the ability to customize my game with mods and use it as a creative tool as well.

I agree with CreeperX
i stopped playing Skyrim a long time ago on the 360 as i didn't have the ability to customise my game with mods or use it as a creative tool

I'd be inclined to say PC, but make sure you have something decent to run it on, I downloaded Skyrim (Derp) onto my little Compaq Laptop, and it's more or less unplayable, and that's the base game. Mods are almost out of the question. So as long as PC is gaming PC, you're good.

Oh, PC absolutely. I couldn't imagine playing any Elder Scrolls game on console, since I've too accustomed to modding the games. I actually think half the fun of the series lies in the fact that everyone's game and even every invididual playthrough can have a unique feel with different mod selection. But granted, the PC must be at least decent. It's much more convenient to play now, for instance, that I at last have a machine with which I don't have to worry about the game constantly freezing.

Mmm, PC controls are also a bit...strange. I don't mean buttons, since these are customisable, just having to drag the mouse across the screen to try and click what you need, with even the slightest bit of lag, this becomes difficult. Mine doesn't even run that slowly if I keep the settings low and avoid visual mods, but I have to play with a PC controller to feel comfortable.

Could anyone recommend a good/great PC to play Skyrim on? I don't know anything about computer hardwire. A link would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I was always fascinated by how people dont see that consoles only exist so people can throw their money out the window.
Obviously PC. There are some very creative mods like frostfall and other immersion mods.

^Well, the consoles have their use, too. I'd say games like Dead or Alive are more fun to play with the controller and from the big TV screen. Same with car-racing games. But I don't really get why people would play RPGs and such with consoles. I'd think a controller instead of keyboard and mouse would be awfully inconvenient to use. But then again, I've played PC games since 1992, so it might be just a matter of what one is used to.

PS3 with all DLC except for Dawnguard (Because of those stupid Vampire attacks.)
Most people will tell you PC, but personally I prefer consoles for couch gaming. I have it on PC, but I'm not really that good with modding and stuff, so my PS3 one would be my "Definitive" version of the game.

Lol, there was no mouse when I played The Scrolls of Abadon. I got a lot of use out of the C=64 keyboard for games like Gunship, but was later convinced that the joystick was the superior apparatus. I tolerated d-pads for several generations of console, but Sid Meier's Pirates! of the Caribbean just didn't feel the same. The N64 changed everything, especially after I had fallen in love with the Turok series. Thank goodness Halo had an option to make the left stick the look control. Nothing presently compares to dual analogue sticks for navigating a 3d environment, plus they put enough buttons on these things now to cover all the bases.
The most I ever tried to use a mouse for gaming was with Daggerfall, and I hated it that way. I made do and enjoyed the game, though I swore that if I ever go back to PC as my primary gaming system, it will be with a plug and play controller. I'm not a tinkerer, and I'm generally content with most of what the developers put in the box that I don't really feel the need to have independent fixes or fan-made expanded content. I dare say I wouldn't take offense to being labeled casual, because I know better.
As of now, I lean on Xbox. That may change.

Well, of course there weren't much use for mouselook before 3D 1st person games. I, too, still remember wearing the keyboard down while playing Cannon Fodder and North & South, for instance. But really, you didn't like Daggerfall with mouselook? When I first played that game with keyboard only, I hated how clunky it was that way. It was a moment of pure joy when I realized I could set mouse control on from the options.
As for controllers, I dislike using them, especially fiddling with analog sticks. It might be that my hands are too small for them, but it never feels convenient to use them, as I have to change my grip every time I try to reach the more remote buttons. Also, the analog sticks feel a lot clumsier than mouse+keyboard. With a controller I can barely make the character walk straight. Lastly, my thumbs get numb or sore very quickly with control pads. On the other hand, the last time I regularly played console games was in 1996, the year our ancient NES "home computer" with its 64-game cassette broke. After that I have only played with controllers when trying out relatives' console games when visiting. So definitely it's a question of getting used to one or the other.
Casualness isn't bad. I'm not a hardcore gamer either, more like semi-casual. I use mods to give some variety in the armor and weapons department or introduce some more quests and NPCs, or fix things I find annoying like Oblivion's level scaling. Things like Frostfall or Wet & Cold aren't really my cup of tea, though, as they seem too much hassle. Also, I only use mods that need only a reasonable amount of effort to install/use. The base game mechanics I can usually tolerate as they are. But still, I find that without mods ES games would be much duller experiences for me. For me mods are about the freedom to fine-tune the game according to my taste. That's why PC is the best system for me (plus, of course, the control scheme as already stated).

Where the mouse still shines for me, ironically, is when navigating a BIM model for work. The irony is that I have tried using newer peripherals that are supposed to be geared for working within a 3d virtual space and found them lacking.
For gaming, though, give me a controller.
