Question Regarding the Aetherial Crown

Hello all, and a Happy New Year in advance...

I have the Aetherial Crown and properly implemented dual stone powers...that's working just fine; however, I notice my heavy armor rating is clearly taking a hit. I generally play an archetypical "battlemage" or the like, and success in both magic and physical combat is critical. Which brings me to a couple of questions, folks:

1. Does the Aetherial Crown work with perk enhancements that grant a 25% bonus (well-fitted), and, 2. As of the latest patch and the most recent version of USKP, does anyone know exactly how 'Ancient Knowledge' is handled with the Crown when worn. I've read that Dwarven armor (does it require a full-set of armor?) does not get the heavy armor perk as intended by Bethesda in the latest patch...what gives here?

Boiling down to this: How can I raise my armor rating effectively while wearing the Crown...any suggestion greatly welcome.

Thanks in advance,,,,Regards

what's the max armor rating which going beyond does not increase protection, somewhere in the 500's or 600's? become an effective smith and you have have plenty armor rating to spare. Mine is over 2k.

those armor perks require a full set of the armor (helm, gloves, boots, and chest. To get your armor back up you may consider smithing to temper your equipment up (I think the effective cap is like 550 or something in the 500-600 tange) or use the alteration spells to buff your armor when you go into a fight, or use a loophole to keep the aetherial crown equipped while using other helms.

Nope, The Aetherial Crown is not Armor, so no perks or tempering will help for that item specifically. You have to increase the Armor Rating of your other Armor pieces, get better Armor, or Augment with Spells. You can enchant 4 items with Fortify Smithing (100 enchanting and appropriate perks), Get your Smithing Skill to 100, Get The Notched Pickaxe, and the Ancient Knowledge power, and get all four Leather Armor pieces to over 542/567. Without exploiting glitches/cheats. Edit: Light Armor also needs to be at 100 (with appropriate perks).

does the notched pickaxe enchantment actually work? or do you have the patch that fixes it?

It has for me. Typically as I increase Smithing and Enchanting, or get new perks/powers, I make new items and temper/enchant them appropriately. When I get the Notched Pickaxe, I go back, and re-temper my equipment, so I do see a small increase in equipment stats.

EDIT

I have a my own mod that I use for fixing things like that. Sorry for the confusion, I had to go into the CK to verify if I had fixed it or not. Point is you can get Leather Armor up to the Armor Cap with 4 Items. Anything above Leather/Iron can reach the Armor Cap with only 3 items. That is not counting the use of a shield.

Additionally, if you are using the Aetherial Crown, the Lord Stone gives you a 50 point Armor Bonus , as well as 25% magic resistance too.
