Multiple Load Orders per Save Game with Wrye Bash?

I ask as the title states here on UESP because I failed to be appropriately educated with the Wrye bash readme. Or I overlooked it.

So is this possible? Did I understand Wrye's readme correctly in that I can have certain save games run with a different load order relative to other save games?

Save profiles are like player accounts, in that they consist of a load order plus a set of save files.
This is from the Wrye Bash Readme. So I'd say it should be possible (although I haven't tried it myself).

So I did misunderstand the Advanced Readme. Now I don't. I think I got it, but it seems that the readme was written for an older version of Wrye Bash; my UI doesn't match the one on the screenshots and written description in the readme. Or I am overlooking something. I can't seem to find the Edit Profile menu he is referring to.

You're right, it says so at the top of the page - my bad.

This readme is linked to from the Nexusmod page of Wrye Bash. There it says something about context menus. Have you tried to right-click on a save file or on the column header? Maybe something will come up then.

I have thoroughly explored the options and right-clickables of Wrye Bash. I have found no success in finding the mentioned Edit Profiles menu, and any other following sub-menus. Hence my comment of not having a matching Readme to release version.

Also, I have read both all available Readmes, both Advanced, and "regular" that comes with my version of Wrye Bash. There is no greater mention of setting up and utilizing thise "save profiles" beyond what is mentioned in the segment that you linked to.

I think I've figured it out:

To access the profiles menu you've got to move your mouse over the column header above the list of save files.

Right-click and you'll get a context menu with a Profiles entry. From there you can edit the save profiles or pick an existing profile to bring up the files in it.

I've made a profile named 'Test' and copied an existing file there, then launched Skyrim.

It worked; there's only the one save file I copied over.

I've been using the latest version of Wrye Bash available on Nexusmods (version 305).

Hope that helps :)

By Jove, man, I think you've done it!!! Thank you for persevering with this. I had about given up hope on it.

I am using Wrye 304.5 ( I wasn't aware of an update) and it works just fine for me too. But then, this being one of the primary features of Wrye, this isn't too surprising. ;) Now if only I knew this BEFORE my mods some how came together and gave Savlian Matius a wonderfully full head of hair, completely destroying episodic consistency in my video project. >.<

This also makes me an even greater fan of Wrye Bash over OBMM. Now that I am better versed with Wrye, I view the oblivion Mod Manager as a new mod users tool; simple and straight forward to use. Hopefully I can get non-OMOD versions of a few of the mods I run, as I don't think OBMM syncs with numerous Profiles with Wrye. Though I suspect OBMM may simply "read" from the active Profile / load order that Wrye uses. But I am shooting blind here and making assumptions and reasoning on no solid fact.

Any way, thanks again for helping me out here.
