Bad-mouthing npc's

I was considering I may reinstall skyrim. Something immediately popped back into memory of course.
Bandits aside. Many npc's in Skyrim are well.. unsocial, unpolite, taunting, provocating. I get rl anger from that. Maybe I'm just frail. I don't know.
How many of you have ever felt rl anger from being called a milk-drinker, being talked down to by a bandit, or other such things. I just hate it. It's one of the reasons I uninstalled the game last time and instead linger around in TES IV.

Taunts from NPCs usually simply amuse me. The milk-drinker comments (that I haven't heard in ages, btw) are especially amusing, because I always make sure to be a literal milk-drinker.

I also have a habit of taunting them (back), especially when they're a bandit.
Bandit: "Can't wait to count out your coin!"
Me (aloud): "I bet you can't even count to [amount of gold I have]..."
I very rarely if ever take offense from random NPC comments. They're just not worth getting all riled up over; they're just pixels.

As a wretched INTP (mbti) I cannot stand factual inaccuracy.
So, when a bandit goes like "You're dead!" I feel like offended that the wretched defectum lacks the mental lucidity to comprehend that one or two swipes from weapon of choice will be enough to shred it to pieces, so to speak. And that ticks me off. That the creature is soo stupid that it fails to realize a dangerous opponent and not giving him/her proper respect. Bandits should be wary. Incidentally. If we players keep killing the wretches, where do they keep coming from? Does Skyrim have more bandits than other regions? What compels such people to become bandits? I am aware I totally overthink this, as is my "per default" mental process. XD

if they've never met you, how do the bandits know you're dangerous? they've probably attacked and killed a lot of people dressed in the same fashion, who weren't anywhere near as skilled as the Dragonborn. They will then assume you're just another easy mark. plus the fun comes in showing them the error in their thinking.
you have to keep some separation from the game. don't take the insults personally, they are just pre-programmed bits of sound to add liveliness to the game. they aren't meant to be factual or aimed specifically at you. the other choice is to look into turning them off somehow. maybe there is a bandit shutting up mod?

Already looked at the nexus for such a mod.
The dead do not learn. :p Killing bandits in numbers will not convince any other ones to perceive my character with more waryness. XD

There's a rare feature in certain other RPG's where, as your character develops, most lesser enemies recognize when they are outmatched and rightly flee in terror at the mere sight of you (or in certain turn-based examples the encounter results in an instant win). I wouldn't mind something similar in TES.

In today's unpleasant society, how do you manage to make through the day?

Well now here is a smart one. Well just now some idiot had illegally parked their car somewhere it may not legally be. And not even straight. Officially I should call the police to have that vehicle towed or something. Of course, the police does not care for such minor things. Besides the police is pretty much the little dog of capitalists. As long as people do not do something to endanger the profit ratings of the capitalists, the police won't respond. So despite the whole " law is absolute" thing, there is nothing I can do to punish this lazy [&@%!] car driver who parked wrong. It is infuriating.

I do not have psych meds, actually. Also I am 100% oblivious if someone is serious/joking so pls specify.
-edit- the vehicle vanished. I assume whoever put it there left.

Autistic? and you're way off topic anyway.
Usually I just role with NPC insults but sometimes if im in the mood or one gets under my skin ill lose it and fire breath them to oblivion! then casually turn myself in and pay the bounty.

How irritated I get at the bandits (not limited to their taunts) really depends on the time of the month.
Most of the time, I don't pay any attention to what the bandits say. It's just, "Oh, look, another bandit. Kill them."
At that particular point in the month, I tend to get uncontrollable mood swings, so... Sometimes they get annoying. I kill them just to shut them up. If I'm in a really bad mood, I kill them with the console. 'Killall' works well. It's satisfying seeing them all drop dead instantly.
Still not as bad as Black and White 2, though... My people kept cutting down my forest. Nobody touches my forest. I went from good to evil in a couple of minutes because they kept cutting down the forest I had spent ages planting and growing. My cow must have thought I was crazy.

I think the enemy dialogue is pretty funny. I also like their taunt emotes like banging the shield...
lol "I'll cut your stomach open like an old lady's purse."

The only thing that really bugs me about the combat dialog is when someone says "You're dead!" or some other cocky taunt while I'm executing them.

Yes that is exactly right. The taunt system, so called is not "live" the game, even being the successor of oblivion, still has not fixed all errors one might encounter.

It always bugged me that you can't accept an enemies yield, it would be cool if you could and they flee or become non hostile but instead they just go on the attack again once they're health regenerates again.

I've noticed that roving bandits usually spawn in groups of three or four. The individuals in the groups of three all become hostile and fight to the death. In the groups of four, though, there always seems to be one bandit who becomes submissive. In spite of him showing up as a hostile red dot in the compass bar, he will spend the rest of his miserable existence cowering and warbling
"We're routed!" or
"I submit!".
Not sure if this is scripted or is one of Skyrims many bugs. I like to entertain the idea that Bethesda was tinkering with a gameplay mechanic where surviving bandits would spread the word about you, and bandit AI would adapt and change towards you. It would have been an interesting feature.

Thanks for the PM. Since I ridiculed you in public, it's only fair that I apologize in public.
Never meant to embarrass or belittle you. My sense of humour often runs away with my discretion, and I wind up reaching too far for the sake of a joke. Sorry, and I shall endeavor to be more thoughtful in the future.

I've had people mock me in public, and usually they end up dead, and I end up laughing and if I'm not careful, a mere 1040 gold poorer. Teaches them not to mess with the Dragonborn.

I babble a lot talking to NPCs while playing, so if any taunt me I just taunt back, like:
Bandit: "You're dead! Dead!" - Me: "No, idiot, I'm death! Death!" etc.
Anyway, like Chadonraz says above, they're just bits and pixels, not real people, so no use getting in a state about what they say to/about you. (Mind you, it's rarely any use to get in a state about what real people say about you either.)

Yeah if there's one thing we can agree on is that the actors did a fine job with their characters. Sound like everyday people but with a touch of theatricality.
