AC/Resistances as a Werewolf

Hey all...I'm curious about the Werewolf form and the AC or any inherent resistances that come with it. I ask because I've recently been confronted in Beast Form with a "Pyromage" and he killed me with two fireballs. Just two. I was dropped faster than pants in a [&@%!]. I have the perk up to "summon werewolf" so that the Brotherhood totem calls buddies to help, but they can't even make it across the room. Boom, boom they're gone.
In Beast Form am I that susceptible to fire damage?

Well, as a werewolf you aren't wearing any armor, and racial abilities go dormant when in beast form. So, it's not surprising to me that werewolves are easy to kill. You're basically just a hairy slobbering mutt who must rely on speed to evade damage and survive.
Also, from the UESP Wiki Skyrim:Lycanthropy page:
"Base health regeneration is set to 0 (unless the Ring of the Hunt is equipped)."
So, as if being completely naked and armorless wasn't enough of a hindrance, you don't even regenerate Health while in Beast Form, unless you have that particular ring, which is in the Dragonborn DLC.
Personally, I never use Beast Form. I think it's vastly over-rated. I didn't cure myself of lycanthropy simply for the 100% Disease Resistance.

It's true that it's tougher to survive in that form. You get a health fortification of 50 and stamina fortification of 100 when you transform.

I like to try to knock down tough enemies then rapidly atack them before they get back up. (And knocking them down yet again if necessary.) You can knock people off their feet by holding down the guard and attack buttons at the same time like you do for a dual attack when dual wielding or unarmed.
Werewolf is better with the Dawnguard download, and it really pays off to eat people's hearts, (which restores health and increases transformation duration) which earns you points to spend in the werewolf skill tree.
I generally only transform if I'm fighting a massive amount of weak enemies (like bandits!) so I can get really cool kill cams and eat lots of hearts and feel like a badass monster. I wouldn't recommend using it in a situation where there's multiple ranged enemies that can do a significant amount of damage. It's good for dueling enemies you can knock over such as your case if you can close the distance.
Also if you're over encumbered, it's very useful to transform and take advantage of a werewolve's massive carrying capacity to travel closer to where you want to be. Obviously you have to make sure no one sees you, but it can be very handy if you have no other option.

Thanks all for the input. I usually only transform when I'm fighting bandits like you said, and I can benefit from the perks (I've got the tree filled up to calling other werewolves to assist me). I went from wolf to vampire back to wolf as I found the Vampire Lord form to be a bit too difficult to manage. I find the Beast Form to be a fun novelty and not much more.

I find Beast Form vastly inferior to the Vampire Lord simply because you can't transform at will. Makes it impossible to go through a dungeon, since you can't loot.

Yeah I find both forms not to be very good, in most books stories and movies Werewolves have a very high regen versus Skyrim. And feeding as a vamp is to time consuming. I also dont understand why you would get more powers as you dont feed. in my book not feeding should make you weaker as you dont have the blood to power you up.

Vampirism only caters to magic wielders.
Edit: Upon closer inspection it could help sneak classes, but it's definitely meant for destruction/illusion mages in order to optimize effectiveness.
One thing I like about Lycanthropy is not getting diseases. They're super annoying.

Maybe so, but it's still not worth the trade-offs in my book, especially the Resting bonuses.
The only reason I'm going to do either is because it's unavoidable in the Companions quest line (which is also completely bogus), and Vampirism strictly for the RP element of "immortality", which is one of my character's main goals.

Well the only trade offs are not being able to be a vampire and a werewolf at the same time, and the lack of a resting bonus like you mentioned. (Unless you want to count people saying that you're furry as you go by. lol)
Being a werewolf IS pretty underpowered but I still think it's awesome. I agree that it's dumb that it's necessary to become one for the companions.

The sad thing about this is the fact that people already expressed their frustration about the vampire existence in oblivion, before skyrim was even being designed.
But [&@%!], they just copy pasted the system from oblivion anyway. Cant help but question their sanity, 'cause they got no excuse.
