is there and easy way to get 100%+ resist fire effect without having to be a dunmer. I read that you have to be a dunmer to use resist fire as a spell for enchanting armour.
I only ask because I want to wear the Blackwood Ring of Silence and for it to not cause me damage. I tried it out without the resist fire. quickly using hot keyed potions to keep myself alive to see what it looks like, but I would prefer to wear it more or less permenantly
any help then?
thanks

why do you want to ware a ring that all it does is fire damage to yourself?

It is a Cursed Ring.
Ajum-Kajin during the Information Gathering quest.
(This ring has few practical uses, since its only effect is to do large amounts of damage to the wearer. Since it is not zero-weight it can not even be used as a "reverse pickpocket" assassination tool. If you manage to get 100% Resist Fire (Resist Magic or Spell Absorption are not sufficient, as CE enchantments ignore both), the ring provides a nice visual effect, especially combined with Daedric armor.)

I thought it only made you be engulfed in flames if it was doing damage yo you that would be awesome I have got to try that with the deadric armor

Sounds cool. It's the ring you get from the dude you and Oreyn beats the crap out off in the FG quest, right?

I think that was what they were wanting to do.
The only way to get enchantments would be using Sigil Stones.
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Sigil_Stone
A Transcendent Sigil Stone would allow you to get Resist Fire 35 pts. So you would need three Stones to get 105 pts.

You could do the frostcrag spire glitch to give you all the sigil stones a few times.

I now have 3 sigal stones all with +35% fire resist
but before I use them on armor (they have 25 fire damage with weapons)
I want to know if you have 100% if you have 100% fire resist can you swim in the lava in the planes of oblivion without getting hurt?
it would be sweet to be able to take short cuts and stuff

I use that all the time, but you def still get burnt, just at a more manageable rate. "Water" walking works best rather than swimming, you burn less, but you still need to run as fast as you can!

I have water walking on my boots +I am a master of acrobatics so I can jump on water but I can't see myself using all three stones just so I could be on fire
