I'm currently playing one, but it's gotten me to thinking about the Redguards and their view of magic. How would a Templar be viewed in Redguard society? Would they be actively encouraged? Or would they be frowned upon, reluctant or not? I've read that Redguards don't look so disprovingly at destructive magic, but what about restoration?

We have a lot of examples of Redguard healers, although they're all clearly Imperial citizens. The only example of cultural healers are those who tried to save Prince A'tor, but even that is kind of fuzzy. They ended up trapping the prince's soul, which is established as as a major no-no in Oblivion, so perhaps it's been retconned since 1998.

I would think Reguards would be a little more open to Dragonknights and Templars, considering they're largely martial magic or support. Even though the two classes do use quite a bit of magic, they're also still largely reliant on normal combat weapons as well.
Even then, I think Redguard mages are cool heck anyway. Scimitars and soulgems, baby!
