2-Handed Weapons only for Combat characters?

Are 2-handed weapons only for pure combat characters, or are they also feasible for hybrids? Fura Bloodmouth trains 2-handed masters, but has anyone actually made a vampire character that specializes in 2-handed weapons? For example, sneak attack bonuses are only for 1-handed weapons, and spells require at least 1 hand free to cast them. However, if you use a 2-handed weapon, you don't have much room for anything else. Also, I don't count Barbarians as hybrids as they are just light-armored warriors.

It might be a bit inconvenient, but definitely feasible. For a warrior, use your spells while the enemies are still at a distance. Once they get close, get your 2-handed weapon out and finish them off. For an assassin, sneak attack with bows or daggers as much as you can. If you're spotted, get that 2-hander and fight like a warrior.

I think they are meant for warriors, but I don't see why you couldn't try to use them on a stealthy character. Probably would be inefficient compared to a bow or dagger, though.

I could see the Bound Battleaxe (or any other two-handed weapon) used for an armored conjurer. Cast one or two summons, then go to the battleaxe until the spells all time out.

You can easily create a Battle-mage type character. Ranged spells/summons first, then charge in with your 2-hander. I actually enjoy using them with Light/no armoured characters, it makes me concentrate on the fight more, instead of just standing in one spot swinging away.
I do think that it's incredibly difficult to use them without being a melee-orientated character of some description, but by no means are they "pure warrior" only.

I see you play on PC. Did you know SkyRe adds 2-hander damage boosts to the Sneak tree?

I have a very successful battlemage build that uses 2 handed weapons for close quarters combat.

Some of the hybrid builds that work well with 2 handers:bards, battlemages, templars
Other non (pure) combat builds that also work well with 2 handers:Shamans/clerics

My sneak characater always trains two handed after archery. Why? Because a battle axe, warhammer, and greatsword all look cooler than a dagger, sword, or mace. And they have the potential to do more damage as your skill increases. Why not?

Because from a roleplaying point of view a sneaky character wouldn't run around swinging a massive heavy warhammer?

The single-hit damage increases, but I found that dual wielding (weapon/weapon or weapon/spell) is much more efficient as a sneak character. Sneaky types should be light on their feet and agile, which seems difficult with a heavy-*ss weapon on your back.
Sneak bow shot failed and they're coming at you? Just lay out a nice carpet of frost/fire/shock walls for the enemy to run through while you pound them with missile spells, and finish it off with a flurry of weapon strikes IF they make it through.
For me a 2-handed weapon only fits the knight/barbarian types. Kick down the door and swing your weapon until everything except you stopped moving.

I was never really into sneaking up with a little dagger to kill enemies. I always use archery from a distance, if that ever fails and the target comes at me.. Battle axe to the face. That fits with my character perfectly, and from a roleplaying stand point makes my sneaky character uniquely awesome.

"That sneak is a coward!! Oh $#!& she can swing an axe!!" Some of the local pub talk ya know.

Sounds cool, warhammer/axe works great for me too though.

That depends on the sneaking person.
To the OP:
I will point out that only spells don't get some form of sneak attack bonus when used from stealth. 2h's just don't get a perk to boost it normally. (Stays at 2x like unarmed and unperked bow)
