the value of souls

I've been using soul trap regularly and never leave home without a supply of soul gems.

Is there a ranking of the amount of soul contained in the different creatures? I've found that giants and mammoths give a good amount and I think humans are higher still, but is there a numeric ranking anywhere?

Thanks for the link. It's strange that draughr and skeletons are listed because they don't have souls to capture.

Have you not tried to capture a soul from one? Because as far as the game and lore are concerned, they do have souls.

Yes, I've tried and I thought something was wrong until I read (Brady game guide) they have no souls to capture.

The guide is wrong then. granted, its much weaker than when it was alive in a non-undead sense, but still there.

Yeah, you should be able to get souls from undead, as far as the vanilla game goes. I get 'em all the time. If you aren't able to, then you might have a mod that's interfering.
