Weeee.

I've been bent on getting a pair of converse boots. Like, the knee-high ones. They look wicked.

I often wear a tan, discount double breasted jacket (only $20, very cheap for quality) with khakis. People often mistake it for a suit for some odd reason. I have two pairs of shoes, tan and dark brown saddle shoes and a pair of oxblood, patent leather Doc Martens. In cold weather I wear a cardigan.

I slick my hair back with Brylcreem, which makes it stay in place, smell nice, and shiny. It works better than gels and pomade that's for sure.

I wear a cheap, stainless steel, $9.99, Waltham CVS watch, which works better than my old watch which was $20.00.

Someone called me?

Does anyone else find buttons hard to wear on your shirt?

Why would you do that to yourself?

How do people feel about the ear gauging trend that has been going around? I understand the joys of body alteration, but I have never been a fan of getting something so visible. It's like getting a face tattoo, it is something that is really hard to undo, and it locks you out of so many social circles if you do.

Before I was interrupted by threadlocks:

I don't give a [&@%!] how much I bench.
I'm more of an outdoorsy man, not some inner-city plebe.
[&@%!] yeah soccer

Also, on the subject of clothes, anyone know where I can get a nice jacket? Like, not a blazer or a formal jacket, but nicer than a sweatshirt, if you get what I mean.

Because, as I said, they look great.

I find it revolting, but people can do whatever they want with their own bodies. They are the one's who'll suffer the consequences.

It's okay. Doesn't look all that great, but it doesn't bother me.

What about a head tattoo akb? Then u can hide it under hair if u tire of it. Unless u dont have really short hair, then that idea goes 2 pot.

Jeelius, r u getting paid to endorse Brylcreem? It seems to be on about 6 threads!

I've always thought it was [&@%!] ridiculous. Things that are going to looking [&@%!]' when you're 60: not that.
"Oh, I'm not planning on living that long, I'm going to live the party life and get crunk all the time and not do what anybody tells me!"

I'll be here when you grow out of your rebellious phase.

Well maybe revolting is too strong of a word. I mean I find me doing something like that revolting.

Not that I mean this in any way that criticizes you, but I remember hearing a similar argument about tattoos and piercings in general. As someone who hangs out, independently of each other, someone who has written academic papers criticizing any form of body alteration, and a tattoo artist, I've heard many different views on this.

I've always been of a mindset that you should just not do any permanent body alteration until you're well out of your teenage years, period. Outside of that time, I assume they're already in the social rut they'll likely stick to for the rest of their lives, so they'll probably have already made up their minds on whether to do this or not.

So, as a tangential question, how do you all feel about piercing, tattoos, or what have you in general?

I'm with Rosie on those gauges. I have a beautiful girlfriend that used to have them in her ears. Now she's grown up and has taken them out. Her earlobes have enormous holes in them. Yep.

If you want future job interviews not to fall through, keep 'em small, keep 'em PG, and keep 'em out of the way.

I wonder if anyone else searches on Amazon or other websites which sell clothing when they are bored?

I've always been fairly accepting of tattoos, as long as the person who got is happy with it. I would have to say I'm pretty conservative on piercings though. Never found anything other than ear piercing to be that attractive.

I don't have any tattoos and I took out my nose piercing. I kind of miss the piercing though.

For tattoos, basically what you said, about how they shouldn't do it until they're well out of their teenage years. I'm just reminded of a feature I saw on the news once about tattoo removal where they talked about it (for example, apparently black ink is easier to remove than red/orange) and talked to a woman who was going to get hers removed. She had this idea when she was about 20 that she was going to get this one circle design and have it filled in when she "found herself", but 10 years later her tastes have changed and she just feels embarrassed about the idea. Wait until you've grown up enough that you've got a better picture of what's a good idea and what's not, and till you know exactly how a tattoo is going to affect your career and such. I don't plan to get one myself, because I can't think of anything I'd want so permanently on me, but I'm not against other people having them.

As far as piercings, I'm with Archer - I really only find ear piercings attractive.

How does everyone feel about rings? I, personally, love the silver/turquoise combination.

Diamonds baby. If there aren't real jewels in it, I won't wear it.

I always found peridot cool. You never really hear about it. I also love how opals look. In general I like shiny things, so I have a grey sharkskin suit. I don't wear it much, mainly because I don't want to stain it. I usually wear it to parties.

I only really like unusual looking rings, not solitaire or eternity style (unless for marriage). My most unusual one is a lotr elven style swan ring.
