I think I might have screwed myself (Dragonborn)

I can't get out of the Sallow Regent. Reading the book in my inventory doesn't work, reading the one on the table doesn't work, jumping into the misty stuff doesn't work, and resetting doesn't work. I have no files I can reload because it autosaved every time I tried to leave.

What about getting killed?

Died both by falling into water and getting killed by a lurker and it didn't help. I'm pretty sure there's genuinely no way out at this point. It's like the game has forgotten I'm actually in Apocrypha (when I die I don't get the "you can't continue fighting" message), but unfortunately it hasn't forgotten enough for me to be able to fast travel.

Oh. Well, the only other idea is reading a different Black Book, but otherwise it does sound fairly fatal for that character...

I've tried other black books - I don't know if I've tried all of them in my possession but I can't imagine there's one that will work when the others didn't.

And that character was just starting to settle down as protector of Solstheim...

No other option then...

Urgh. I can't be bothered to redo Dragonborn; I guess I'm either going to start Dawnguard or go back to Oblivion (the game, not the place).

If you r on PC, use player.moveto console command to move to another npc. It should work. Just pick a random npc that's not in there with u
