So, a friend of mine has this virus called BrowserProtect.exe. We've tried lots of different methods to remove the virus but none of them seem to work. It always results in the computer saying that we don't have the correct privileges to delete the file, when he has admin privileges. Can anyone help us?

Have you restarted the machine in safe mode?

Have you tried a system restore?

In these cases, there is most definitely a fix guide posted somewhere on the internet, for the record. If you google the program's name, you will likely find a guide that tells you how to remove it step by step.

We tried doing that but one of the links we clicked actually had a malware (luckily, it was blocked) so we didn't dare continuing.

You don't mean the link I gave? I'll delete the post if that's the case. Not my intention to do anything like that.
