I like how the Mario video is an hour and fifty minutes and the Morrowind is like eight minutes...

Well, you're comparing an 100% completion speed run to a bare minimum completion speed run. Imagine how long a Morrowind 100% completion speed run would be! I reckon about 15 hours.

I guess I can appreciate that it's not an easy thing to figure out and a single mistake would ruin the whole run, so the player obviously has some skills, but I also think this is the dumbest possible thing to do with a game like Morrowind (or any other TES game, and many other cRPGs). It's like buying something beautiful and amazing, and then going online and saying "Look, look what I can do with this fantastic thing! I can shove it up my butt! Subscribe!"

The fact that it's totally stupid is what's so great about it!
I remember watching a Portal speed run a while ago. If that's the same one, then I found it kinda disappointing. For a game with so much potential for a super entertaining speed run, there was just too much glitchy mass section skipping. Parts of it were really good though. If I remember correctly, it was mostly just the last level with all the skipping...

Guess my sense of humour just doesn't extend to butt-jokes.

..and you're not saying this about most Morrowind speed-runs?

Not at all. First of all, Morrowind requires no skill no matter how you play it. But also, the glitches used are section skipping glitches. He skips most of the game, sure, but that's not a glitch; the game allows you to do that. The first glitch where he goes through the wall is so that no enemies spawn and the other one is to boost his speed. Having said all this, I actually prefer the following Morrowind speed run because there are hardly any glitches used. A bit slower, of course.
Nope, that Portal speed run is one where the guy doesn't exploit any out-of-bounds glitches and does every level. Of course he does most of them in ways you aren't supposed to but it's the thought that counts.

Ahh, well you've inspired me to watch it then.
*watches*
Haha, yes, that one was more entertaining than the one I saw. But it's been so long since I've played Portal (puzzle games don't really have much replay value...) that I'm not recognising the levels and their intended solutions in the brief few seconds he spends in each area. Just means I'm not appreciating his faster, more elegant solutions as much as I might if I knew what he was doing lol. Still, it was fun to watch. By the way, he did use glitches, just not "out of bounds" glitches (the other one that I watched did use this type of glitch).
