Daggerfall plot questions

Hello
I've just finished the game and got some questions. I'm asking here because its all about plot and I think I have better chances of getting some replies here then in the Daggerfall subforum. I havent played later TES series much yet if that has been made clear later, just feeling a bit confused by this game's plot.
1)So why exactly did Lord Woodborne kill King Lysandus anyway? I assume that the king had the totem at some point and Woorborne killed him to get it, right? Though I dont remember the game pointing it out. Or was it just because of some politics issues like hatred towards Daggerfall? I'm wondering.
2)Underking. Is he good or bad? Is he like a boss of undead army? I believe that he's not the bad guy afterall. Being Tiber Septim's battlemage, he only wanted his heart (mantella gem) back to put an end to his undeath and free himself (literally die). Tiber Septim didnt give it to him because he needed the power of Numidium to establish empire domination over the world. That was his "betrayal" and thus I felt its For Great Justice to let the Underking have what belongs to him. Am I right? So I chose the Underking ending.
