Games you never finished

So I was trying to think of a game to put in the "I wish I never bought this" thread and ended up thinking of a couple of games that I never finished. Not that I didn't enjoy them, I just never got around to getting to the end.

Morrowind - Yep. Never finished the main quest. My Breton became Arch-Mage and then just relaxed.

Half Life 2 - Played it for a few hours, felt like I was in a hyperactive kid's dream, then put down the controller.

Super Mario Brothers - I've beaten 2, 3, and World, but never the original. Watched my grandpa beat it, though. He was all about the video games.

So what games have you never finished?

I make it a point to at least attempt to "finish" the games I buy, but there are a few who's sheer difficulty just stopped me in my tracks. I don't think I ever beat COD 1 or 2, for instance. Its rediculous how much the series has changed. Just look at the difficulty alone, COD 1 or 2 was insane and it took me days of nonstop playing just to reach the middle, versus what we have now which I can beat in my sleep in the period of 4 hours.

I'm sure theres more, but I'll have to look see which ones.

Morrowind, i played it for a while, but never finished the Main Quest. i got so bored of it that i just couldnt take any more of it and just stopped playing.

another game would be Final Fantasy IX (thats 9), i played until i reached about CD-3, and i was already quite bored of the game at this point, i played a little bit longer before just losing interest.

Final Fantasy VIII was another one, but i didnt stop playing this because i wasnt enjoying it, i stopped because i couldnt finish. my characters had somehow managed to reach the end of the game through some luck despite being pathetic, i hadnt trained them enough or done their GFs properly throughout the whole game, and i couldnt bring myself to replay it :P

Final Fantasy 13. It's basically one massive corridor and i always end up getting bored of it. It's 20-30 hours before it opens up and i suspect it becomes linear after that bit.

FF7,8 and 9. I usually get stuck on a boss and end up rage quiting it then delete the save after a few months when i decide to play it. Almost completed FF7 once.

Demon Souls. Infamous for it's diffculty. Check. Enemies can kill you through the walls. Check. Dovah ragequiting it. Check. Am currently playing it now and intend to complete it. May require a lot of spare controllers.

Mafia 2. Got to the point where you needed to raise a lot of cash and the game lacks variety in activies to raise cash. Thus lost the urge to play it.

GTA IV - Never got around to it.

Final Fantasy VII - I honestly don't know what happened here, but I still prefer FF III

GTA 4 for me as well - just too many mini missions, got bored and ended up just flying and driving around listening to the radio

and RDR still needs a bit of work, the achievements glitched and i have one or two mexican bounties to get for my 100% completion even though i had them done already, also have the zombies to do

i havent finished the single player campaigns for BF3 or any of the COD series (since MW2)

Spoiler:
and

Skyrim, but no one will ever finish that - sorry couldn't resist

Portal 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, every single Assassin's Creed game, Skyrim, Mass Effect...almost every game I've ever gotten. I don't have a ton of time to play video games anymore, and I tend to just sit on them until I get an opportunity to dedicate several hours. You can't play a game properly in 30 minutes!

Half Life 2 is the only real one. I got stuck and just never picked it up again.
Another is Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. Wow, that one brings back memories of primary school haha. I probably would've finished it if I had a computer that was old enough to run it. Apparently I could use DOSBox, but I just can't be bothered.
A couple of others that I haven't finished because I haven't ever been able to get them working are Baldur's Gate II and GTA IV. Baldur's Gate II crashes and I can't figure out how to activate GTA IV. I'm sure it's possible and it will probably happen in the next month or so...

I never did play much of Skyrim. I never finished either of the two Assassin's Creed games I played, I didn't finish Plants vs. Zombies, I never finished Metro 2033, Bastion, Cthulhu Saves The World, Super Meat Boy, Fallout New Vegas, Mass Effect, and a lot, lot more. I've played a lot of games :y

Morrowind as well. Played it for a year and a half, always got too distracted to finish the main quest.

Genewars, super fun but got very difficult towards the end. Also a path dependent game so one could find themselves having a crazy easy time with early missions only to find that they should have done something earlier which made things much harder in the future.

Z, less depth than Genewars but similar in it's problem. Missions were either simplistically easy or impossibly hard. Got bored before I could think of a strategy to win.

i went back to new vegas last month, and after an hour or two getting used to it, really enjoyed it again. The music helps you get into the fallout series from what i have played.. I had gotten bogged down in all the interwoven plotlines a year or two ago and needed a break

Also just remembered Stonekeep. I got pretty far in it but the game felt like it never ended. Also perhaps Return to Zork should go without saying.

Ninja Gaiden. The endboss in that game is absolutely cheese. His attacks are way too powerful, and he has way too many defenses. That is the only game that I seriously played and never finished it.

Lots of games...

ACII:Brotherhood- Very close, but never got o the end.
Alan Wake: Not sure why, but I love the game.
Arkham City: Ok, same with Alan Wake, not sure why. I love DC's universe, so you'd think I'd eat this game up.
Dark Souls: This boss duo has me on the backpedal, but I will kill them eventually.
Deus Ex:HR: I didn't ask for this crash bug in Hong Kong.
Dragon Age: Origins: Ok, as a Bioware fan, I'm actually shocked at this. This is on my list of games marked as "Must Finish".
Thief 2: Yep, also on the list.

I swear, sometimes I get so involved, that I don't want it to end..So I stop playing, so it kind doesn't end actually.

Oh gosh, where do I begin. Well, until very recently I never beat any of the Zelda, or most likely many of my other Gamecube games from when I was small, so there's that. I tend to play more games that don't have an ending per se, and have unlimited replay vaule, i.e Pokemon, The Elder Scrolls, Minecraft, etc.

I gone through vanilla Red Dead Redemption, but I sorta dropped the controller and ran away like a punk when trying to fight the Undead Nightmare.

I don't like to be reminded of what is going to happen. Soon. Kinda of a bummer. *eyes sword. swords.*

Not a lot. I finish most games I play. And I play a lot of games.

The game that sticks out I never finished would be the first Spyro game I picked up when i was 8.

I remember it clearly.
I collected every egg. except for one that needed me to play what felt like a shooter mini game.
There was this portal that required all eggs and all gems to use.
And I never found out what was behind it.

I usually do everything in a game when I play it.
Take dishonoured. I spent ages once in a mission because I really wanted to hear a few lines of dialogue.

I'm like you, I've spent 4 hours in the first mission of dishonoured

I've never finished the main quest of morrowind. I have Need for Speed Hot Pursuit(the new one) sitting there. Always wanted but never got to the ending of Final Fantasy VIII. And a lot more

KOTOR II.

Darth Tranny. Just.... Ughh... I hate it that she makes your character unable to hit for a few turns, then hits you and when you finally regain control of your character, she uses the same Force ability and repeats.

Did you use improved energy resistance and a few energy shields?

Games I've never finished? Not too many, I think. Most of the games I haven't completed are ones I just didn't like. Others I do like and the only reason I haven't finished them is... Well, getting sidetracked.

Morrowind sticks out as the main culprit for getting sidetracked. I'm almost finished with the Main Quest. Almost. I just have to go and have a chat with Vivec. It's just that, every time I go to play, I always wind up randomly wandering around and dungeon diving. I don't really want to do the Main Quest. I just want to explore, pick some plants, and exterminate some of those damn Cliff Racers. I've actually covered most of Vvardenfell, Solstheim, and Mournhold. Just don't really feel like questing.

I've never managed to complete Crash Bandicoot Warped, either. I like it (some levels more than others), but my only copy kinda got stolen by my brother (who claimed it was his even though I'm the one who bought it). I think I was half way through. Probably never going to complete this because I'm most likely not going to find another copy.

Haven't completed Crash Bandicoot and the Wrath of Cortex, either. It's fun... I just don't play console games all that often.

I haven't made it to the end of Spore, either. I like the Creature Stage. Don't like Tribal Stage, Civilization Stage, or the Space Stage. Well, the Space Stage isn't that bad... In its early stages, anyway. Later on it turns into a nightmare. I usually get bored and just sit back to blow [&@%!] up. Usually my opponents (who were actually creatures I created in the Creature Creator feature... which isn't a good thing since I made them pretty damn tough).

I have yet to complete the Quest Mode for Bejeweled 3, too. Not too fond of that.
But, hey, at least I'm at level 150 or so in zen mode. I've only played the game for 25 hours total.
