A little survey (of sorts)

This is mostly directed to Australian members, though I'm interested in input from American and European users as well.
Go to Start and search for
"cmd"
Open it and type
"tracert forums.uesp.net"
(No quotations in either) Technically the domain doesn't really matter, you can use whatever you like for that.
I suspect, between the 2nd and 4th hop there should be the IP "10.254.43.132" This is IANA - what I understand as being a US based hub for all IPs. If it does come up, I'm interested in knowing the ping results you are getting for the hop in which it appears, as well as if it comes up at all.
For all sites I've tested, it has come up, though a friend of mine who lives nearby, didn't have this IP show at all.
It's nice and quick to do and I would be thankful for the data.

I'm in America and I got no such IP in the trace.

I think this sounds suspicious. No go for me, and I don't recommend it to anyone.

What do you want the data for?

It starts with "
10.x.x.x", so it will be within the block of Class A addresses reserved by the IANA for private networks. Are you sure that this hop you saw was not still within your own local network, such as a campus Metropolitan Area Network at a University or something?
The fact that you state it to be
"between the 2nd and 4th hop", would also indicate it is fairly early on in the journey, which would hint at it still being a local address. It takes me three hops just to get out of my own house, as I have a wifi router connected to a hardware firewall connected to an ADSL router, and then out to my ISP.
The Class A
private network address range includes everything from 10.0.0.0 through to 10.255.255.255 so I'd say it is more than likely you are connected to the Internet from a business or school connection which has an internal network that makes use of that IP address range.

I missed this little comment before. That nails it. If every single site you visit goes through this Class A reserved address then you're likely connecting to the Internet either through a company or school network, or you use some form of Metropolitan Area Network, such as
CBDFree (in Wellington, NZ), which is a partnership between the local Council and a corporate service provider.

Sorry, forgot about this topic. Turns out that IP is likely there because I'm on Satellite Internet.
