I've noticed that in my house I can drop them, leave the house, return and they'll be lit.

i have seen droped torches lit but only happen once when the adoring fan was holding one at dive rock and i kinda made him have a accident if you know what i mean and near his body was a lit torch on the ground so i had fun holding it front of me but i lost it

He respawns everytime you kill him right?

From what I have gathered, he does respawn after every three day period. Where(and exactly when) he might respawn has been questioned time and again?

I think he only respawns if you kill him via cliff shoving and using him as a meat shield (hard to do, since he runs like a wuss) by paralyzing him and letting him take arrows and spells for you.

Actually, he's not. I've had him respawn right next to me when I was out in the wilderness. Maybe, if he is following you when he dies, he will return to you when he respawns?
