Skyrim Composer Invites Facebook to Elder Scrolls Concert

The Escapist
Conductor Jeremy Soule wants to know if you'd be interested in joining him for a live performance of music from Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim in New York City.
Jeremy Soule, in case you don't recognize the name (and you probably do) is one of the foremost composers in the videogame business. His soundtrack credits include Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Prey, Dungeon Siege, Company of Heroes and perhaps most famously, the previous three Elder Scrolls games, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Speaking of which, Mr. Soule would like to know if you would accompany him for an evening of Elder Scrolls musical entertainment in The City That Never Sleeps.
"Dear friends, how many of you would be interested in attending (with me) an entire concert of Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind as performed by a world-renowned orchestra in New York?" he wrote on his Facebook page. "If so, please click 'like' on this post. Also, tell your friends, too. We need as many likes as possible. Thanks a million!!"
"And for the record, the sheet music and arrangements will all originate from me. This would be the authentic TES experience," he added in a follow-up. "I might even conduct..." He also said there's "definitely a possibility" that he might personally perform some of the music on a piano.
The announcement led to an immediate fracas in The Escapist news room over which Elder Scrolls soundtrack is the best. Expressing her opinion that the theme from Oblivion is the obvious choice (despite his work on Morrowind clearly being superior), Escapist Editor in Chief Susan Arendt added, "TAKE MY MONEY! TAKE IT!"
That strikes me as a perfectly appropriate response. I would also imagine that there are fairly good odds that the performance will be recorded, so even if you can't attend, just take a second to pop over to Facebook and give the man a "like." This is one concert that really needs to happen.
I'm down for this.

He's asking if enough people would be interested in buying tickets. I'd assume he hasn't decided yet.

I wouldn't be able to go.

I would love to see a recording of it, though.
Also, more soundtrack news today - Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim's are now available on iTunes.

(They are still on available on Jeremy Soule's website as well,
https://www.directsong.com/mobile/index.php?menuid=4 . Skyrim's soundtrack can be bought as actual physical CDs there rather than a download, and Morrowind's is $4 cheaper than it is on iTunes.)

I'd buy them if I didn't own an autographed copy of each already.

Here's the Facebook status, in case anyone couldn't find it. Linked to in the article anyway.

I'd be down is it wasn't New York. New York's alright... if you like tuberculosis.

That doesn't make sense Xarnac, NYC is pretty clean compared to some other cities and unless you go digging through trash then there isn't really that high chance of getting sick.

It makes perfect sense, considering I've been there several times and seen with my own eyes.

I grew up there from age 4 to age 6. And even when I never went vaccinated I never got sick. Also, you're not really elaborating how NYC is unclean or dirty in all aspects. Because I can tell you from personal experience, I find it clean and sanitary.

Well, I'm going to be honest with you Xarnac before we go any further off topic, I grew up in New York and I've never gotten sick there. I've never found it dirtier than any other typical american city and it is a place that I love to be in. And lets be reasonable, you're not going to get sick in NYC unless you go out of your way and basing your opinion of an entire city off of a song by Fear is perfectly stupid.

It was a song lyric and rather accurate. But I don't need a song to know NY is a [&@%!] hole. Since, you know, I've been there.

And that is a subjective opinion. Every city has its bad areas. And calling the entire city a [&@%!] is just a hopelessly general blanket statement you sound stupid saying. Now if you said a certain borough of the city is [&@%!], then I might agree depending on the borough. But I have to differ, a lot of people live in NYC and like it there. I liked there, Its a cultural and food wonderland as well as home to some of the richest people in the US. If NYC was a [&@%!] then why would Park Avenue even be inhabited?

Not really, since I've been there. Anybody that has, knows what I'm talking about. Not sure why you're getting so upset over a song's lyrics anyway. Joke joke was a joke, but NY is a [&@%!] hole.

I'm not really upset, but I'm going to agree to disagree, I like NYC, and I don't think it's a [&@%!]

Totally off topic, but having lived there myself very recently, I also disagree. However, this is not the place to talk about it. If you don't want to go, don't go - you'll just be a grumpypants and miss out. Your loss.
