Have you decided what role you want to play? Tank? Healer? Magic DPS? Melee/Ranged DPS?

Me? I want to be a tank. I love standing in the middle of a fray soaking up damage and just laughing at everything's attempts to kill me. If I'm given the option, I'll throw in some restoration for extra survivability and utility. Howboutchu?

While I'm hoping ESO at least blurs the lines between the trinity, I'll stick to healer/ranged dps...for pve at least...pvp is always a coin toss on what I want to play (Though I tend to pick the 'weakest' class/spec for pvp, out of some kind of "I bring a shovel to a gun fight" pride)

Healer. Probably Redguard or Breton.

I was under the impression that roles would be heavily downplayed in this game compared to other popular MMOs. I want to be a dual wielding Dragon Knight initially, though, so I'm guessing that's DPS.

They are, but that doesn't prevent anyone from being a healer (focusing on restoration, having restoration and magicka fortifying gear etc).

I just wanna drive my enemies before me and hear the lamentations of their women. So my Dunmer goes in with two swords.

Well, that would hardly be sanitary or good for the blades, nor would it befit a Dragon Knight and Temple devotee. What would Lady Almelexia think? I'll be sure to send them to their makers, though. Especially those haughty Altmer.

I'm probably going DPS Ranger (is that even possible? I'm not good with these MMO terms), a Mage Healer or a Melee Tank. Since there are three factions, I will be able to experience them all three.

Class names vary, but ranger, hunter, or some variation thereof is the most common (though they can vary from full archer, 'animal tamer', survivalist, or all of the above)

Certain classes like "Druid" or "Witchhunter" can run the gamut of playstyles (jack of all trades to melee pet tamer)

Wait, have the classes that will be available in the game be revealed yet? I mostly enjoy DPSing, but I have dabbled in everything else.

So far only two classes have: Templar and Dragonknight
And potentially Sorcerer, as rumored (mentioned in a few hands-on, in synergies with the dragonknight)

I love the Dragonknight class. It seems to be a basic Warrior class but with more magical derived attacks, and cool lore as it derived from Akaviri martial arts. Suitable for a swordsman I think.

I'll probably go Dragon Knight, even after the others are revealed. Always gravitated to the heavy warrior classes, even though I'm not a fan of tanking.

I'm always a fighter, so anything I can do to wield a sword and get some offensive magics off will be good. I'm not obsessed with DPS but I do love running into the fray and kickin' butt while I'm there. Dragonknight doesn't look too shabby.

Perhaps I shall try something different, actually; depends on if I can find people to play with, and what they think they will need.

Our only two options so far are a spellsword and a crusader? I choose the latter, of course, as that is one of my favorite classes. But two magic-wielding warriors? You'd think they'd release the simple warrior/mage/thief trinity first.

Oh right, people needing stuff. I might consider being a healer if there's enough demand. While healing is fun, though, it's nice to be able to actually do stuff on your own when you need to... we'll see how well ESO handles that, I guess.

If I'm going for a doctor, I'm thinking something along the lines of Mordin Solus.

Can't do patter songs, though. Power ballad duets, maybe.

I have 3 characters planned (even though it's tragically unlikely that I'll be able to get/run the game);

Dunmer Mage DPS, Orsimer Warrior Tank (two handed [axes, preferably]), and a Bosmer Thief (stealth based. bows and daggers.)

Since I will be a mage that wears heavy armor that will most likely make me a mage tank? I'm not really sure but it sounds about right...

Dragonknight (offensive combat) and Templar (defensive combat)
Sorcerer (off. magic) and Warden (def. magic)
These four classes have been confirmed. Presumably one or two stealth classes will soon be confirmed. Nightblade/spellblade and ranger/skirmisher are popular targets for speculation.

How or what I'm going to play? That will mostly depend on what actually is more fun, not what seems more fun right now, but my characters have a tendency towards stealth, healing/supporting and hybrids. Shaman was my main in WoW and I enjoyed that role a lot. I will also avoid playing the same as everybody else, i.e. no Bosmer archer for me.
