Morrowind freezing

Hi guys. I'm new here. 
I'm having a major problem with Morrowind now and no matter how much I play around with Wrye Mash or look online, the problem cannot be fixed.
I tried to install Morrowind Overhaul and it was mostly fine except that the night sky was all white. I resorted to the backup Morrowind folder it created.
I then recently installed Necessities of Morrowind and Join all Vampire Clans. Didn't have much problems but then my player character became a vampire and did all the vampire quests and the game started to freeze up. This is happening with all of my back up saves. Eventually, morrowind just freezes at the same exact point and I cannot go on.
I did the ToggleScripts command and the freezing problem virtually disappeared. But of course I need scripts in the game so it is not a viable solution.
I have tried changing my load order, running as admin, putting it in compatibility mode...etc but nothing changes. I am running Windows Vista and Oblivion runs fine on high settings so it can't be a problem with MGE.
