Do I really have to buy both dlc's for every profile I have? The problem is that the wifey and I both have separate profiles with characters that have SEVERAL hours on them and she really doesn't want to start over on a new save on my profile that has the dlcs. Im pretty sure I already know the answer and im being cheap, but really??

If you downloaded it from the marketplace, no. If you downloaded it on the in-game menu Im not sure.

If you are in the prior, log on to her profile and re-download it from the marketplace. (Should be free and instant)
I recommend the attempt with HF since it is the cheaper of the DLC.

Hi there, As long as your profiles are on the same console you should only need to buy the dlc once, My sister and I both have different xbox proflies. I always buy the dlc on my profile and she always gets to use it on hers, so you should be fine.

It never worked with me and my brother. I had to buy all the oblivion DLC separately when we shared

I just got off the phone with the wonderful people at microsoft and any content i download is available to all profiles on my xbox. i had to delete the dlc's and re-download them but everything is working fine and she can now play dg and hearthfire... YAY!

Good news, now all you have to do is figure out who gets the controller

I'm not sure it's possible to swap a save from one gamer tag to the other. I have multiple characters saved on one gamer tag on my device. I accidentally saved over one a while back so I make sure to keep three or four copies of my favorite characters now.

Which means that it should not be discussed. You can transfer between systems, but only to a similar gamertag/id.

I thought that DLCs were keyed to your console's serial number, not your player profile. This means that any profile on that particular console should have access to DLC. However, it also means that piracy protection crops up when you snap your HD module onto a different console, but that can be overcome with Microsoft's help.

This is untrue actually. Moving or copying game saves transfers ownership of the file to the profile that is doing the action. Dlc does not have one of these ownership tags below the amount of MB or GB it takes up, therefore it is shared bewteen all profiles on the console. Atleast it is supposed to work like this, CoD dlcs are a different story.

If you downloaded it, it should share from all of the memory drives, say you could move it to a USB and to a different Xbox, then it should be for that Xbox entirely.

So even if one bought it, it will be shared across the console.
