Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion

Someone on an inferior forum claims to have deduced the next game from the patch files, similarly to how Dawnguard info was found out prior to that release.
Next DLC will be called Dragonborn. It is set in Solstheim. Main locations are Raven Rock, Miraak Temple, Castle Karstaag and Telvanni Tower. You will might be able to ride dragons. Also, new armor types, possibly horse (?) Bomemold, Chitin, Nordic and Stalhrim.
PS3 DLC will come soon and so will mounted spell casting.

That seems interesting. Nothing there really looks too far-fetched, although the name Dragonborn seems a bit doubtful when the vanilla main questline is already about that. (Maybe it will be closely related to the MQ?)
However, since it isn't from the most credible source, we can't assume anything yet. I sure hope that this is true, though, because some of that stuff looks pretty cool - especially going to Solstheim! Lots of room for new adventures.

Well, it isn't from a great source, but he used the same methods that were used to find out info about dawnguard. We learned of the snow elves involvement and the vampire lord and crossbows from the extracted game files that were on a patch released just prior to dawnguard, and that appears to be what is going on with this new 1.8 patch that was released as a beta earlier today

That's true, and judging from how Dawnguard and Hearthfire were leaked, there's a very good chance that this could end up actually being the next DLC. But we'll still have to wait for further evidence/confirmation.

I could imagine that there might be another dragonborn.
When you talk to the greybeards, they say that you are the only known dragonborn, but that there have been others throughout the ages.

I hope this is DLC, though i have little desire to ride a dragon. But i am seriously hoping for some Solstiem action! We just need more magic!

Eh, I think all dlc is evil, but yes, Mounted Spell Casting.

Has this latest patch done anything to fix the bugs in Hearthfire? It really is too bad that such a small DLC is so intensely bug-ridden. Honestly, I'd rather see Beth put their time and resources into debugging what is already out there, rather than working on yet another bug fest.

Update 1.8 (all platforms unless specified)
BUG FIXES
•General memory and stability improvements
•Fixed rare crash when using vampiric grip
•Fixed issue where Arnleif and Sons Trading Company could become permanently locked
•Fixed issue related to duplicate NPCs
•Fixed rare issue where exterior door would not open properly
In addition to Steam, this update will later arrive on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As we have new details on Skyrim content development, we’ll let everyone know.

I'm with Evil i, I would rather see them making a patch that actually fixed the common bugs in the game rather than beginning to make another DLC that will probably be as bug ridden as the last two, if not more considering it will probably be bigger.

Issue related to duplicate NPCs? Did they finally fix the Letrush quest?

Solstheim? I suppose that makes sense, given the geography. Although, to be honest, I'm pretty much sick of snow at this point. Why don't we have a Tribunal-type mod where we go to the new-and-improved Imperial City in Cyrodiil? (I'm being theoretical, of course)

1. The Imperial City blows
2. It doesn't have badass Dwemer ruins under it
3. It has no god-king living there.
The Imperial City would be pretty much the exact same as it is in Oblivion, just with new graphics, and I don't think that warrants a DLC.

1.We have already been there. Really don't want to go back/
2.Dwemer ruins? Got enough of that.
3.God-King, being thee Dragonborn is good enough.

1. I never played either dlcs for morrowind.
2. You can NEVER have too many dwemer ruins. Period.
3. The more God-Kings, the better.
by the way, has anyone from this site confirmed this yet? i tend to trust you guys more.
EDIT: and i forgot to mention:
4. it's 200 years into the future.
EDIT II:
and if this is true, i would recommend not getting excited about flyable dragons. something tells me it would just be an animation in order to get to the island, and that's it. so caution.
nevermind, i just took a look at the original post, it seems to suggest otherwise.

I really hope the dragonmount is a scripted event as that would probably break the game by being able to fly a dragon as no-one would be able to touch you. I do hope there will be a ton of new dwemer ruins and some are pitch black thus having an actual use for a torch/candlight spell. Imagine your touch going out and it was your last one. You hear the sound of a Dwarven machine nearby but can't tell where it is. And you have no clue if it's a Centurion or not. You draw your weapon, slowly moving. It would put some fear into exploring the ruins of the dwarves.
I do hope that the new armours won't render dragonbone armour useless as it in theory should be the strongest armour in all of tameriel. As for magic casting. That's going to be a bit hard as it's hard enough trying to use archery whilst on a horse.
I suspect the DB is researching himself and to see what other purpose Akatosh has for him. I wonder if Spears will make a return?
Oh and Eurogamer have reported on it. So it does sound legit. I do hope they will release DG and HF before DB as i don't fancy spending £30 on two possibly broken add-ons.(DG and DB)

I want them to include that "fix" as part of every update from now on, the same way Minecraft updates say "removed Herobrine".

Oh no ..
this sounds absolutely terrible, if this is actually going to be the next one .. well, lets just say i'll be extremely dissapointed .
why go back to solstheim ? it already had a DLC centered around it, why do it again ?
i dunno, it makes no sense to me .
i hope that this is NOT the next DLC, but ya never know ...

They are addressing several weapon loadouts for while your are mounting the dragon?...oh god....oh please don't make us fly them.
In Skyrim flying on dragons would be the choppiest, cheesiest, most pathetic compliance with silly DLC requests since the dawn of the Elder Scrolls.
HOWEVER!
I do think it can be considered that we can ride them on the ground. I've seen several mods providing dragons as a ground mount. I can see myself calling Ohdaviing in and sitting on top of him, above the whole battlefield, directing his shouts and firing lightning storm and crossbow bolts off of him. I'm just imagining a leisurely stroll through the cloud district on a dragon's back.

Well, this time around, Solstheim is "New Morrowind"— it became a major refuge for the Dunmer when Red Mountain blew up.
If anything, there will be a much heavier Dark Elf flavor to the island.

No, no, no! There will be NO flying of dragons! :/ I also never played Morrowind so anything surrounding this would be new to me, but what about all the other bijillion fans that have? That would seem recycled to me.
And another Dragonborn wouldn't last a day in my games. I'd find a way to get rid of him/her somehow, someway.

Couldn't care less about dragon riding either way, but I love the sound of everything else.

Maybe there will be possible tension/conflict between the Dunmer refugees and the Skaal Tribe, in keeping with the whole two sides V one another thing that Skyrim/Dawnguard has.
Ooooohh!!! And Werebears! This is the perfect DLC to include them!
