So OpenMW v0.18.0 was just released and it seemed like a good time to spread the word. The project aims to create a fully playable, open source implementation of the Morrowind, although it will require you own a copy of the game. The benefits of the project's recreation of Morrowind in a new engine will be functionality similar to those like the Morrowind Code Patch and other programs, and more, including the ability for modders to completely overhaul the Skill and Attribute systems. It's far from complete, but it looks to be shaping up well now and I feel it will eventually reach a playable level without burning out. You should check out the project if you're interested, along with the FAQ and this video:

None of your links worked, and spoiler showed blank white. No offense, ok.

Spoiler:
The links in the first post worked fine for me.
I've been following the development of this project since last year and I must say I'm truly impressed by their will and determination. I mean, I've heard about large mod projects, but I've never heard of anyone creating a new game engine from scratch for a game. There are just so many things that could be unlocked for modders, like changing the AI, the scripting language, the rendering, etc. I really hope this gets finished.

It was a temporary problem. Now they all work. Sorry 'bout the hassle! No problemo, that is. :D

OpenMW v0.29.0 was just released, and due to its newly added save and combat functionality, the engine is now in a relatively playable state. If you haven't checked out the project itself up until this point, this release (or any future releases) would be a good way to get into it - it even supports MGSO 3.0.

Check out the release video for more info.
