But for real do you want kids? Why or why not?

Hell yes I want kids.

I've always enjoyed kids, whether teaching them things, or playing games.

I'm just waiting for the right person to have them with. Figured I may aswell get some practice in, in the meantime.

I definetly want kids

same as Believe , i like Teaching people stuff (making myself look smart ) and i like playing with children ... plus i have a very childish personality and sense of humor , so i can get along with children well enough

No, I hate kids.
Now babies, I will have those, and as soon as the reach the ripe old age of 7, they are there mothers problem. I won't leave or anything like that, but I will do what most fathers do, remember when they were small and pretend it is still that time.

At 14, I'm really not in the place to have an opinion on this. But as time goes by, I'm sure I'll want kids.

I am sure everyone wants their family name to live on.

Probably true, but that doesn't always mean it has to live on through themselves in particular.

I don't have any attachment to my family name and won't be missing it when it's gone. A name is just a name.

As for children, I would love to have a family of my own one day. There is something really pure about children, and I love interacting with them and being around them. They have a very unique way of looking at the world that's easy to appreciate and easier still to love.

I also think it's important to give homes to children who are down on their luck. I'll likely adopt and perhaps one day open my home to foster children, although that can be a difficult situation to be in.

I dont care about my family name either way.

Kids... eh, I dont know, I'm no where near parent matrial.

By the gods no. Well..... If i do have them, i will love them and be there for them. But they wont be on purpose....

Counterexample: me. I took my ex-husband's last name, which is now my daughter's last name. Anyway, there are nearly 7 billion people on this planet--your last name is not unique. But you're the one who's going to be taking care of that kid til they turn 18, at a huge cost of time, energy and finances.

I'm so split between wanting a son or a daughter, but either way, I'll love and cherish them, and make sure they listen to Zeppelin.

My parents are foster carers, best and worst decision they've made.
Personally I'd love kids, don't know why- I just do.

I know! It isn't a small feat by any means...but I always feel like I should be giving back to people, and I think that's one nice way to do it. Plus, I usually get very nice compliments on my patience, but that's because it's always been required of me. Growing up with a handicapped sibling will teach you a lot of things.

Not everyone can have children, anyway, or be a part of a family naturally. Families aren't just biological, as a friend pointed out. Sometimes the ones you find are the ones that give you the most love and comfort.

Phil, you're smart to consider things like that when finding a life partner, but at the same time you can't know in advance how things work out. A woman might think having 10 kids is a great idea, until she actually goes through a childbirth with complications. Or one (or both!) of you might even be infertile.

i have Five brothers , so i would like my family tree to be very expansive

Personally, I'm not interested in having any children. If, however, my wife wants to have children, I can't say that I'll disagree.
Although, I admit that I change my mind temporarily every time I see an adorable toddler.

I'm sure you Kiwis could adopt a few Aussies if you're looking to take away from Australia and boost your dwindling numbers at the same time ;D

At the moment I don't even want to get married, let alone have children. Yeah yeah 17 year old, I know, but I'm not being asked what I'll want in a decade so there.
