It has been three weeks since the Siege of Ostagar, the battle that nearly destroyed the Fereldan Grey Wardens and threw the the country into a civil war. In the wake of the Blight and the menacing darkspawn, the nation of Ferelden is in utter chaos. The only glimmer of hope for the survival of all of Ferelden is a small group led by Alistair, [&@%!] son of the late King Maric, and one other Grey Warden, a human named Erik Cousland.

However, Alistair and Erik were not the only Grey Wardens to survive. For another group was sealed off in a remote cave on the battlefield of Ostagar, living on military rations to survive for three weeks while Darkspawn pounded on the entrance. Just when all seemed lost, sounds of battle were heard and the Darkspawns' presence was no longer sensed. Arathir Delphias, leader of the splinter group, finally decided that it was time to come out to face whatever was outside, whether it be friend or foe.

__________

Dragon Age: The Forgotten Wardens is the sequel to Dragon Age: Journey to Ostagar. Returning players from the first know the story, and if you're a new player, don't be afraid to ask for details. This is a free-combat RP, which means that generic, unnamed enemies (henceforth known as 'mooks') can be controlled by the players in combat situations as they see fit. This does not apply to named, important enemies, in which combat will be decided by me, the DM. PvP battle will be carried out between two players and they shall mutually choose an outcome, unless DM intervention is requested.

This RP uses a stat sheet, but these stats are not for dice rolling purposes; they are for vague approximations for combat against tough or important enemies. All combat outcomes against these enemies will be decided by the DM.

Here is your character stat sheet. Just a note; unless you are a returning player from Journey to Ostagar using a character from that RP, you cannot start as a Grey Warden. You may take the Joining later in the story.

Note to returning players: It's perfectly okay to import your old character sheet. Just be sure to make the necessary changes, such as adding stats and a new, third specialization. (The third specialization is optional, as is getting any specialization at all).

I'll post Airmed when I get time. Also the Cousland warden smells.

What do the special attributes do in relation to skills?

It was the most 'neutral' warden I could make up.

Unless you guys wanna make up a different warden.

Male city elf was my favourite but it's up to you. Human noble is fine.

I'll wait for everyone else's recommendations for our Warden. Male Dalish Elf was my personal favorite.

It'll be very general. Characters with low strength won't be able to break down doors. Agile characters will be better with their hands when unlocking stuff or avoiding things. Intelligent characters know their history better. Perceptive characters spot traps better. The usual. Luck will be used if nothing else can be used. This should be very seldom.

Magic, zombie or lookalike? I really liked roleplaying Kerin, playing my inner a-hole.

It wouldn't be very good for continuity -.- If you wanna do a brother or something, that's fine, but I can't let you play him as is. Dead should stay dead, you know?

Question: Could we join is mid-flight? I've been insanely busy lately, but would love to join. I think my schedule would free up some early Novemberish.

You totally can. I do believe Baloth is intending to do the same thing.

I'm not sure if we'll be still going by November, but you're welcome to wait on us. c:

I'll probably join, but likely not as that total fiasco of a ranger I failed to pull off.

Here's Arathir.

Name: Arathir Delphias

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Class: Rogue

Class Specializations: Bard, Duelist, Legionnaire Scout

Background: Arathir was a street urchin of Denerim who discovered that he had quite a silver tongue, and that his skill in coercion helped him get much of what he wanted and what he needed to survive.
Using these skills, he became a bard, playing for money in taverns across Ferelden, getting into a myriad of fights but always coming out on top with his sword-and-dagger style. After a while, he got into a fight with a Noble's son, and was sentenced to death after accidentally killing the man. Before his death came to him, a Grey Warden arrived and invoked the right of conscription. Arathir was made into a Grey Warden the next week, and has served them as a morale booster and a figurehead of morale in small groups ever since.

Personality: Arathir is slow to take anything very seriously. He relies on his good looks and quick tongue to get himself out of many situations, and he sees himself as wily; as he rightfully should. He tries to get as many people to like him as possible; more friends in more places mean less enemies in less places; and when he meets someone who considers him an annoyance, he takes to an attitude of sarcasm.
After the incident at Ostagar, Arathir was deeply disturbed, his faith in many things shaken. The loss of the near entirety of the Fereldan Grey Wardens has hit him extremely hard, and though his happy attitude is still intact, his demeanor will never be the same again. He has developed a rather vengeful side, and killing Teryn Loghain is one of his main goals.

Appearance: Arathir stands at 5'11", with long, sleek black hair. One of his unique attributes is his heterochromia; he has one blue eye and one brown. He is of a lean build, and doesn't look very menacing physically; of course, brute strength is not his preferred style anyway. He has light, fair skin. He now sports a scar on his forehead, the result of taking a blade to the face during the battle of Ostagar. It is slight, but noticeable, stretching from his mid-forehead to the bridge of his nose, slanted diagonally.

Weapons/Armor: One echanted Fereldian Sword made of Silverite with sparks of lightning emitting from it when drawn, and a dagger made of silverite.
He wears a leather coat with leather armor underneath, with a long cloak and a traveler's hat with a feather in it. He is very attached to this hat, and hates the very thought of losing it.

Fighting Style: One sword, one dagger. He is very acrobatic in his moves and takes a defensive approach to enemies, since he is not the most durable person. He prefers inspiring his companions, allowing them to take the frontal assault while he flanks and plagues the enemies with surprise attacks and the like.

You can read the original topic here. Treat it like a novel.

Ignore a lot of what Uno said about reversing the calling process though. That won't be happening.

Gid, your character was fine. If you drop the 200 years old thing, he'll be a lot better. I don't know what Arathir would do without his bud. D:

Well, you're the boss...

Name: Gideon Sightless

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Class: Rogue

Class Specializations:
Ranger, Duelist

Background: Formerly a ranger of the wilds, Gideon was made a Grey Warden years ago. At the Siege of Ostagar, he was blinded and very nearly killed, clinging to life only by willpower. In the caves, he recovered, and honed the skills that would allow him to remain functional so impaired. Already fluent in operating without sight, he now came to rely on touch, hearing, and smell, and mastered echolocation with help from his comrades.

Personality:
Though once he was distant, Gideon has been forced to develop bonds with his comrades as never before. He has nothing to lose, and would fight to the death to defend them. Unafraid of challenges, he has nonetheless had a mountain to climb in overcoming his blindness. He will never shoot a bow again, both because his beloved longbow was destroyed and because it is more difficult, but mastery of the blade has taken its place.

Appearance: Well-built, with broad shoulders and well-muscled arms. Gideon has dark hair worn in a ponytail and his beard is medium length and well-trimmed. The scar of the blade that took his vision is still vivid on his face, though the wound itself is mostly healed, and he wears a blue blindfold to hide the full extent of the injury.

Weapons/Armor: A quality steel [&@%!] sword, a leather tunic, brown breeches, soft leather boots, leather bracers, and a forest green hood.

Fighting Style: A unique blend of ranger skills and echolocation, allowing him to use his blade to devestating effect. He uses swift, efficient movements and is equally capable when fighting a group or a single foe.

Statistics (SPECIAL):
Strength - 5
Perception - 10
Endurance - 5
Charisma - 5
Intelligence - 10
Agility - 5
Luck - 0

An RP I can get behind:
Spoiler:
Name: Landon Free-Wind

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Class: Mage

Class Specializations: Arcane Warrior, Force Mage, Spirit Healer

Background: Like many mages before him, Landon grew up in a tower. But it was not his prison. From an early age, he knew he held a power non, unlike him could understand. His father had turned into an abomination in front of him. His father then killed his mother and brother. He killed his father, in arcane flame, and wondered to the tower. It was there he spent his youth. Then he met Duncan, whom recruited him into the King's army. Landon has always been skilled in the way of the sword and spell, Ostagar his real test, at the ripe age of 24. But Landon never made it it to Ostagar. He awoke one morning to find he had fallen asleep, alone. He wondered until he came upon the battle field. Vultures and Darkspawn gnawing at human flesh.

Personality: Landon is a jokester , and when moods are down, he'll always have something up his sleeve. Any situation can be a joke for him.

Appearance: Tall, slender of build, his true strength comes from his magic. Once wimpy arms become strong, and the heaviest of armors are light to him. The constant use of this magic has made him strong of body and mind.

Weapons/Armor: A Silverite longsword and a red steel dagger, a complete set simple steel plate armor with a mysterious jewel in the chest plate, and a mages hood.

Fighting Style:As many arcane warriors, Landon can fight with blade or spell. His force magic can pull down waves of enemies. Dual wielding is something he picked up from the rogues in the Wardens.

Statistics (SPECIAL):
Strength - 8
Perception - 5
Endurance - 6
Charisma - 7
Intelligence - 10
Agility - 3
Luck - 1

So far, 5 people are good on this. 3 of them being characters from the last one. And I'm suspecting more tomorrow when the RP forum springs to life while I'm not here.

I do hope Eltee joins. I loved Hali.

I guess I'll just have to be a Alistair. *Sigh*. What a world.
