Now that public schools are starting up again in the fall, there's a lot to talk about, isn't there? What are your goals, what are you looking forward to (or not looking forward to), and other such things, can be discussed here. Me, I have school at 8:30 tomorrow. I hope for the best!

I'd make a stab at Greece's economical status, but Greece's self-inflicted injuries are good enough.

I'm looking forward to school actually. I only have two years to go now in High School, and in Belgium you then have to choose your 'final' type of education (don't really know how to say this in English). I chose Greek-Latin, meaning there will be less maths, less sciences and more things I care about (languages).

Fun fact:
Education is 100% free in Greece.

I'll have to find out my AS results first although I can guarantee that Maths will be my worst subject because I'm not autistic and therefore can't get above a C, so I'll be dropping that. Afterwards I imagine I'll probably be spending the year preparing for Uni rather than actually finishing school properly. I don't particularly want to go to Uni but it's impossible to get anywhere in life without a degree so I guess I've got no choice.

Win.
Ed is in year 9, at an all girls school called Asquith Girls. It mildly sucks, since it's biatch central, but Ed lives on.

I've promised myself not to get a grade below VG in any class. So far I've kept my promise, but 3rd year looks like it might throw some challenges my way. (No, I'm not explaining what VG is. Look it up, you lazy bum.)

I'm looking forward to doing the subjects I actually give two craps about. I'm also looking forward to meeting my friends and such again.

Mine starts tomorrow, I'm excited for some aspects of it, not so excited for others.
On the plus side, I get to see more of my friends, learn cool stuff and have something other than the forums to do with my life.
On the negative side, I get to see more people I hate, learn useless stuff and have to do homework.
Interesting...

Maybe we should have a "Posting Good and On Topic Posts" class here on UESP.
I start school in a few weeks after Labor Day here in the US, although for graduate level work. It's pretty funny, since two years ago, when I graduated with my bachelor's degree from university, I never thought I would ever go on to further my degree outside of certificates...and here I am, enrolled at an Ivy League, of all things - which I had also always been so staunchly against. But I have to say I'm really looking forward to the opportunity and to meet face-to-face the people in my program, who I've talked to online for the past several months. Formal education is one thing, but the things you learn from the people you surround yourselves with...now that is something.
I am very nervous, though, not knowing what the future holds. This is my master's degree and will be my life for the next two or three years, and I would hope to go on to a doctorate...but one step at a time.

I'm heading off to Grade 10 in a mere two weeks (and one day). I got a tentative schedule at the end of last year, but I get my completed one in a week. I think it'll be an interesting year, to say the least.
Sometimes, I almost get excited wondering what the year has in store for me. But then, I remember that I'm going to have to wake up at 6:45 in the morning 5 days a week, for 10 months.

I'm starting sixth form in September.
Maybe a stupid question, but is that also the term in America? It's where you sit AS and A2 exams.

We don't have AS and A2 exams, so the terminology is different. In America you tend to have either a final exam or, at higher levels, mid-term and final exams (or projects/research papers, depending on the subject). We don't have exams that tell you what to study in college or university or anything that bars you aside from the standardized tests meant to sort of "add" to your academic record by quizzing you on pointless things; some examples are the
SATs for university level and the
GREs (Graduate Record Exam) for graduate level. We also have state-wide standardized testing at certain grade levels, but come high school you focus on your class exams and then the SAT.

I'm in my Fourth Year of Secondary School. I feel so old.
I'm taking Chemistry, Physics, English, Maths, Home Economics (Nutrition with some Cooking), French and Nanza's teaching me Swedish.

Oh, and I'm doing Modern Studies which is essentially politics.
