I just recently got my hands on a copy of Daggerfall and managed to install it and get it to run in dosbox. Everything seems fine through the character creation and intro movies, but immediately after that I just get a black screen. I have been looking for forums that address this issue but I haven't been able to find any. If anybody can help me out I would really appreciate it.

You are sure that your com can handle the game? If your com can then it is probablly a glitch. I don't know what to do other then get a new game. Try other stuff before that though.

Try running the whole thing in windowed mode in dosbox until the game is acutally going
On my computer if I Alt-Enter dosbox to fullscreen at the wrong point (such as during a movie), then the game will sometimes just go black and do nothing.
Good luck, let me know if it helps.
Sorry....This is how I got Daggerfall to work.

I managed to get it running a while ago and should have updated this. What I did was copy the entire CD-Rom to my PC (just copy and paste) and ran the installer from that copy. I then changed the paths to point back to the cd (or else it will tell you that you must have the disk) and then ran it in dosbox. It was really glitchy so if you do it this way make sure to save often. Also, I couldn't get climbing to work. Once I entered climbing mode and then left it, but I couldn't successfully get back into climbing mode no matter what I tried. Thanks for replying to my post. I really appreciate it.

Hm... now that is interesting though.
I did that also to get the movies and such working (and to save me having to keep finding the CD), but it's always been less glitchy for me that way.
What kind of issues do you have?

Gonna need a freaking 8800Ultra to run that bad boy.
