Hello i signed up onto this website to ask for help.

I have made a sword using blender but the texture just won't show when i loaded it up in oblivion.

I have searched so many places websites and i made plenty of changes but just can't figure it out.

If you need the files i am using to help i can send it through email.

Do you have the texture file located in the Data\textures\ folder? Does it show up correctly in nifskope? (Assuming you have nifskope's rendering game path pointing at just your Oblivion data folder and nothing else)

yeah that was one of the thing i did before i gave up and came to the forum.

Make sure the texture is already in the appropriate Oblivion folder, and link it to that in Blender before you export.

If the texture is loaded in another file, outside of the Oblivion folder, it won't show.

Furthermore, make sure you have the model unwraped onto the texture, set the map input to UV and typed in the unwrap name. Also have the texture setting changed from 'Mix' to 'lighten'. Alternatively, import a model with a similar material effect to what you want and apply that to the model in Blender before exporting.

There are a few more material setting... yet Ed can't remember while at school.

EDIT: Are the textures .dds too? Because that's the only texture type that works in the gamebryo engine.

and i did change the texture to dds using a converter

Is the UV mapping correct?
