Favourite NPC

I have to admit, Oblivion's NPCs had more "personality" to them and were more unique overall, but that doesn't mean Skyrim doesn't have some memorable ones (though, not as memorable as the eccentric Glarthir).

My favourite would be Madanach - king of the forsworn (and previously, Markarth). He's shrewd, intelligent, patient, and has a charismatic personality. He's the reason why I chose to go with Imperials instead of stormcloaks...

Too bad you help the forsworn out a lot and they're still hostile towards you - I'd love to have a forsworn follower after that quest, but I guess mods can change that all...

So far, I I really like Jarl Balgruuf and his neutral attitude. He's one of the only jarls in Skyrim who I actually like and respect. I also really like Tolfdir, the wise teacher of the College of Winterhold. And who can forget our old friend M'aiq the Liar (By "old friend," I mean that literally, since he's at least 250 years old at this point if he's the same guy from Oblivion and Morrowind).

And speaking of NPCs with personality... if you're a PC gamer, you should check out the "Interesting NPCs" mod on the SKyrim Nexus. Adds about 50 fully-voiced people all over Skyrim, all of them with great dialogue and backstories.

Maiq is a Maiq of many Maiq before him.

I can't think of a single NPC that really stood out and made me smile or anything. Juib comes close, but nothing like Big-Head really.

I like Balgruuf, and Brunwulf.

I also like all of the talking Dragons, even the ones who have very little screen time. Despite being large flying semi divine reptiles they have more personality and dignity than most humanoid NPCs.

Brunwulf Free-Winter <3 damn near made my eyes leak when he spoke of his tolerance, and was made Jarl. That man should be High King. Of Tamriel. Forever.

My favorite NPC's are probably Paarthurnax and Karliah. I think it's what I know of both of them, their stories, that make them stand out. I like listening to what Paarthurnax says (he certainly does have more personality than most humanoids), and the events which occur during the Thieves Guild questline give Karliah more of a story than most other characters.

...Paarthurnax too, of course. Favourite quote from the game (not a direct quote but close enough); "What is better? To be BORN good, or to overcome your EVIL nature, through great effort?"

Love that dragon man. Wish him luck. Hope he doesn't lead a dragon army to nuke the whole world.

Are we doing npcs, or talking characters? 'Cause if we're doing the later, I'm going with the Giants.

I vote for the mages at the college. I like their personalities. Nazir and Cicero are also my favorites because they crack me up. Some of the things Cicero says are like "I bet someone had a lot of fun acting him out!"

Karliah, Delvin Mallory (his accent is win x500), and Jarl Balgruuf.

J'Zargo is by far the best NPC in the CoW, everyone else is just so boring. Veezara is another good one, I was so sad when I saw his dead body. Erandure is an interesting fellow as well. And finally good old Idgrod Ravencrone, crazy old woman but I've got a soft spot for her.

Karliah is awesome. I liked Astrid a lot too. All of the factions had some interesting characters. Tolfdir, Kodlak

Mine is Paarthunax. Every time I finish speaking to him I feel wiser and more peaceful than before.

M'aiq knows much, tells some. M'aiq knows many things others do not.

Wow, that mod is truly a gem. However, it has 87 NPCs and only 53 of them are voiced - does this mean the rest have no dialogue to say or are they the "silent" type that aren't supposed to speak at all?

I really only download complete and polished mods which is why I'm asking. I would install it and see for myself but seeing how you have the mod already I thought it wouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Also; completely forgot about Maiq! He a favourite in Oblivion as well, especially since he spent his life collecting calipers!

No worries, friend. The Skyrim Nexus page actually gives the option to only download the voiced NPCs! (In fact, that's the version I have.)

DEFINITELY J'zargo. And J'zargo too. Only a close second to J'zargo himself.|

Seriosuly, I take that cat everywhere. He's my character's best friend, the Sam to my Frodo.

Any Khajiit, Paarthurnax, Delvin, Brynjolf, Ralof, Ulfric...but mostly Khajiit

I despise Free-Winter, I don't know if it's his tone or the fact he calls every. single. one of my characters either cat or milk-drinker before I even talk to him, but like him, I do not.
