Ask rkMerafel

Having played far too much Morrowind and the expansions, I am willing to help anyone and everyone with pretty much anything.

I play on XBox, so I don't know anything about console cheats and such.

But apart from that, ask away! Character creation, quest problems, whatever. I'll reply when I can.

The shrine isn't anywhere far. With enough luck you'll get there from Ghostgate fighting one or two cliffracers and one or no daedras, from Ghostgate. Just cross the gate, walk straight across the crossroads right behind the gate, then take first right a short way further up the road. If you feel very cowardly, 2x invisiblity/levitation for 20s should suffice, one to get there, one back - it really shouldn't take longer than a minute inside the ghostfence. And you can use the gate switch to lock out the daedra, running from it if you don't feel like fighting. Just make sure you have the right offering (read Pilgrim's Path, I don't remember what it was)

it was a soulgem i think...
and i think only one invisibility/lev. spell/scroll needed, after i reach the triolith, i could just to almsivi....unless no magic in ghostfence? fairly not possible, ive been in, and the ash slaves use magicka, and i did too.

but, i still HATE ghostfence area....

Sure you could port from there. Divine intervention should take you quite far, like Balmora I think. Almsivi will likely pull you to Ald-Rhuhn. But really the venture isn't anything nearly hard enough to really need the spell. And if you plan 'porting anywhere, just run up to the altar, make the offering and 'port away ignoring all the monsters, no need to levitate/invis.

By the way,
1) to finish the main quest you'll need quite a bit of time behind the Ghostfence.
2) Before you go to the altar, spend some time in Ghostgate, it's a very nice and interesting town despite the horrible location.
3) If you plan on 'porting, do some exploring then 'port when in danger.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but... I don't know where in the game you're up to. A bit more information?

Pilgrimages, in order to join Imperial Cult faction. Pilgrimage to the shrine behind the Ghostfence. The shrine is really an arrow shot away from Ghostgate.

Ah. I see. I've never done the Imperial Cult stuff. Silly me.

Indeed. I never said I did know everything - I just enjoy playing a lot, and I can help people with (most) problems.

Anyway. Anything further?

Content mods?
I went through Morrowind some 3 or 4 times, and I know most of it. I'm not too fond of killing more random creatures so mods like Giants don't appeal to me. But if you know of mods that give more quests/questlines/factions etc, I'd be glad to hear. Especially mods that expand Bloodmoon in this respect, loved that expansion.

Confiscated "goods"

I just recently "found out" about this wonderful game, so I'm quite a n00b.
And now I have a little problem.

Apparently I had a bounty on my head. A small one, so I decided to pay.
But later I found out that all the "stolen goods" were gone as well. Some "heavy s--t" at that.

My question is: Is the guard keeping the items somewhere?
In Seyda Neen there's a chest marked "evidence" in the census office, but I can't find something like it anywhere else.

Eagerly awaiting an answer!

yep, in local imperial fort. Usually the prison is in the dungeons.

OK! Thanks!

But how can I find the dungeons? (Silly question, I know, but I've spent HOURS looking for a possible chest)

You find the local fort. They usually have "morth" in name ;) Then you open various doors and look if the stairs lead up or down. Dungeons rarely happen on upper floors ;)

as for the seyda neen evidence chest...
in the beginning of the game, you go into the CENSUS AND EXCISE OFFICE...it is right there, if you go in from the docks, it should be on your left . i doubt your stolen stuff are in there though...

if your at balmora, it should be the fort moonmoth...at Gnisis it is Fort Darius...at Ebonheart Hawkmoth

Aaahhh! So I must look downstairs! Hehehe.
Seriously... I think my loot should be in Buckmoth then, since I encountered the guard in Ald'ruhn. But where in the fort is the dungeons then?
I looked EVERYWHERE (or so it feels anyway).

find stairs leading down(i get lucky with that stuff), maybe they call it jail, but its about the same...if you desperately cant find it, steal something that doesnt cost much and report to a guard and go to jail.

This will land you in front of the right fort if you let get caught in the same place as previously. But you still need to find the stairs down inside :) Only in Oblivion you are placed inside the actual jail.
Sorry, can't help you much now, my Morrowind install is currently so ridden with mods that just finding Buckmorth in the jungles and rainforests of Vvardenfell (ridden by dreaded monsters too) would be hard ;)

The stuff that was taken from you will be in the fort or legion depot that the guard belongs to. For example, if you're arrested in Gnisis, the chest with your stuff will be in Fort Darius. Balmora, Fort Moonmoth. So look downstairs in Buckmoth. Note that the chest will have a 50 Lock Level and should have a guard nearby.

Whenever you're reported for a crime, the best thing to do is drop your entire inventory except your gold, find a guard, talk to them, pay your bounty, then pick your stuff up afterwards.

I found it! An lo-and-behold... it WAS upstairs in one of the towers! :D

Now all I have to do is steal it back from the chest without any of the two guards (and two prisoners) noticing.
