The End of the World

Or "Darling, we're all going to die tomorrow, so let's make love one last time." or "AMG ZAMBIES" or "The day with many names". Take your pick.
This RP is, you guessed it, about the end of the world, the Apocalypse.
It was inspired by this track:
Please listen to it in order to gain a better perception of what will be going on here. I'll also give you my own analysis:
The opening sequence is a clichè sound you hear in a lot of horror movies, meant to convey fear, in this case the fear of the end of the world. A woman says "Is it known to you that the end of this world is already close at hand?" The seed is sown and the final process of the apocalypse begins. The unchanging, stomping drum pattern represents the inevitable fate of humanity, an unstoppable destructive force marching against the world. It continues with various sounds that convey a general feeling of dread, distress and fear, and as the song progresses it becomes more chaotic, representing the world getting closer to its state of decay. All things in the universe race towards an ever worsening state of disrepair and the Earth is no different. And finally, the drums stop and the end has arrived, ending in one final surge of fear. And the world has ended.
Keep in mind, I was quite drunk when I overanalyzed this track. But hey, it can make a good RP.
So, what will be going on:
For a few weeks now, rumours of scientists and governments discovering the supposedely rapidly approaching end of the world have been circulating. First only conspiracy theorists talked about it, then others started believing them. Like a worldwide domino, the rumour became a half-accepted fact, but nothing has been officially announced as of yet. This is the point in time at which you start. You are in Paris, France, either on holiday, there for business, a resident, whatever. You can be whoever you want (with a few restrictions I will list later). This RP will be your character's last (and possibly first) adventure. What happens during it will be decided more by you than by me. I will draw a graph of outcomes, possible situations and assorted gamey things, and those will take place depending on what you do and don't do, say or don't say and so forth. Not everything you do will have an impact, but I won't tell you which things do.
Over the course of the RP, the world will change. Different factions will rise up, the world order may be turned upside down, who knows? I do, but I ain't telling you.
Key points:
-There will be no dice rolls or mechanics, or character sheets. I want this to read like a novel, even to the players themselves. Characters will be PMed to me to be approved and edited.
-This RP has the potential to fail horribly, provided you aren't descisive and play badly. I'll say it right now: I expect you to do just as much work as I will be doing. I won't hold your hand and I will only guide you to a certain degree. The major decisions will be made by you, and they will influence everything. You are writing this story as much as I am. Your character's relationships with each other, people's (NPCs and players alike) lives and deaths, and ultimately the ending. Yes, you have the power to change the end of the world. Or not. It's up to you.
This is still in the very early stages of development, but I want to get it out there now, to get suggestions and discuss it, in order to make it enjoyable for everyone. Ask ALL the questions!
What I expect from you (or rules, if you're boring):
-Proper grammar and assorted fascism.
-An interesting character
-If you have a problem with anything, or any questions, or anything at all, PM me. I don't want people quitting because of silly reasons.
-No godmodding other player's characters.
-Make your characer go though good and bad stuff. No "Oh my, I chipped a nail but it's gonna be alright," if you catch my drift.
-Your character may not be a politician, or anyone who potentially has any knowledge of the upcoming apocalypse, or a lot of influence.
What you can do:
-Your characters can be related or have a pre-existing relationship. You can also have multiple characters (who must be related in some way) if you think it will contribute to the story.
-You can dictate the outcomes of most of your actions, but keep it interesting.
Note:
Don't hesitate to join because of the recent influx of RPs. I still have a lot of work to do until this can begin, it will most likely not start until the end of July. Furthermore, I promise to leave no one hanging if they can't post as much. You don't have to give me a character right away anyway, just let me know if you're interested, either here or in a PM, so that I have a scope to work with.
