For me, it's probably Lou Reed. For many years, it was a bitter battle between Bruce Springsteen, Rozz Williams, and Jackson Brown, but after Lulu, I couldn't deny Lou the place of honor.

What's your least favorite band?

Art Bears. That [&@%!] is just unlistenable.

Had the misfortune of hearing and seeing Dragonforce live. You know it's bad when all of the songs become white noise quite quickly. Too many solos, not an ounce of substance.

Jane's Addiction. A constant trill of distant-mic and reverb do not make up for an uninspired singing voice.

I try to loathe the Foo Fighters for being a one-trick pony. But I happen to like the trick they do.

If Eddie Vedder wishes to pursue a successful career beyond Pearl Jam, I'd suggest 'stage hypnotist'. He's nearly put me to sleep at times.

I agree so much with this. Someone I know said I was too small minded to enjoy the brilliance of DragonForce...I found this hugely ironic.

Anyway, the worst band? Probably SixFeetUnder. Doubt anyone's heard of it...and I don't think you want to.

Hard to pick just one, so here's a few:

Evanescence. Not really a band. It's more like Amy Lee's group of music slaves so that she can feel big. Every single song I've listened to is boring.

Escape The Fate. This band started out well with their own sound. Nothing groundbreaking, but once the original singer left, they became a generic metalcore band that thinks they're the next Misfits.

Sum41/Blink 182. Obnoxious posers.

This, as well as Paramore sorry Kessiepoo, Flyleaf, Linkin Park, and Fall Out Boy. They all just suck so hard and they're boring and repetitive as hell.

Hmm, certainly far from brilliant. Some would say it takes skill to execute clever solos, which is true. When it insists on dragging on and you can clearly hear them making mistakes constantly; it's a skill they don't possess.

Your friend might be a fan of them on a CD, which is where he'll hear none of this as it's touched up to a glossy finish. You can gauge a band and their merit so much better when it's raw though; and only a few can boast they sound as good as the CD.


Anyway, to stay on topic. I also saw Atreyu live, I don't know what was up with the singer, he just couldn't hit any of the notes at all. He also tried covering Bad Medicine, to which my dad humorously shook his head and said that he couldn't do it...Surprise surprise, he couldn't.

I third this. I would also include anything connected to the odious Simon Cowell and Stock, Aitken & Waterman. Not sure if that includes Bros, so I will put them in just in case. Plus Pearl Jam, Oasis, Korn, Slipknob, Marilyn Manson and the whole RnB Genre (great you can have people write you chorus's about sex, now shut the funk up).

Seriously, I don't get this FOB hate. I mean, I GET it- it's always hip and edgy to be seen hating on things that are recently popular- but come on. We're on the internet. You can say what you really feel, no one's gonna know. They are, without a doubt, the most crunktastic emo band to drop in the past decade. They've got a righteous sound, bouncin' rythms, killer hooks, a great singer, and some wickedly sly lyrics that would make both the Bloodhound Gang and Seth Putnam poop themselves in envy.

And what's wrong with Nickleback? Besides the fact that they're obnoxious and terrible, I mean. That song they stole from Joe Satriani wasn't too bad.

I know all of these have been said, but they all are so bad.

Paramore is also pretty good. Certainly the best Christian rock band since Barlow Girl, possibly the best since Impelliteri. Linkin Park was the lone decent radio-friendly rap-rock band of the late 90s/early 00s, so hating on them is a lot like hating on Van Halen or the Crue. And why do people remember Blink 182? Are they on some kind of comeback tour or something?

If we where talking about bands like Blood on the Dance Floor and LMFAO, would you say all generalizations are false then?

I don't think you can rightfully say that you hate all of it, simply because you've never listened to every single metal song in the world.
