Good Obscure Music

This thread is for sharing music that is very good, but maybe obscure, underground, or just not really out there. Bands or artists that aren't well known but should be.

One of my favorite artists is JG Thirlwell, who puts out a range of different types of music under quite a few names.

Ephixa: got started making great hardstyle covers of classic video game music, but moved on to original productions. Used to (and probably still does) give away a lot of his stuff away for free.

Ephixa - Turret Error
Spoiler:
Richard Cheese: lounge music covers of your favorite alternative pop songs. He usually doesn't censor out vulgarities, which adds to the charm in my opinion.

Nine Inch Nails - Closer (Richard Cheese Cover)
Spoiler:
Clann Zú: I think they're pretty obscure; they were only active for about 5 years a decade ago, and I had to stumble on them by accident. Really nice introspective electronic-infused rock. Mixed English and Irish lyrics.

Clann Zú - One Bedroom Apartment

I have three shirts, two posters and nearly every album.

And I hope one day to have made album art for him.

So yeah, marketeer to a degree.

Hehe.

But yeah, Lapfox is pretty much its own thing. If you like electronic music you should check some of his tracks out:

It takes some time to get familiar with the whole setup, but it's worth it.

Also, I've yet to meet someone who know about one of my other favourite Electro bands, Underworld:

I figure that if I know about it, it can't be that obscure.

Well, I never heard of the Beatles until a couple weeks ago. They're not even played on VH1!

No, I'm not talking about those Beatles or whatever odd bands you mentioned, but in general. I am not enough of a hipster to know any obscure bands, so if I know a band, it's not obscure, so I can't post it. QED.

But bands that hipsters know aren't obscure. Bands that hipsters know are known... by other hipsters. The whole point of having a true hipster band is to be only just obscure enough that people will think "Oh, this guy knows his music" whenever a hipster name drops you, but not so obscure that no hipsters will think to namedrop you in the first place.

I'm sure you know of SOME obscure bands. Or, if you don't, just fake it! That's what most professional hipsters do anyway. It's called "padding your resume". Hit up Google or Youtube, type in a random search, like "indie college rock", go down to the 47th page of hits, and take your pick.

Just so. Here's my favoritest band in the world, The Tilt! Bet you never heard of them! Me, I've known about them for YEARS.

Deja Voodoo.

An NZ band that should have become world famous simply because they are highly amusing.

There is this awesome two-man band of lovely Irish guys who go by The Guggenheim Grotto I discovered absolutely by accident. (Really - one day their song came on my iTunes and I liked it enough to research them. I still don't know how it go there; a freebie from Starbucks or a gift from my favorite clothing company, maybe?) Anyhow, they are excellent. Their lyrics are wonderful, their voices are great, and their music is exceptional! I like them so much I made Musicman cover their song The Universe is Laughing on his ukulele.

They are so obscure I couldn't really find any videos of them except small live shots that don't do them justice...but they sound great regardless. Here is their song Fee Da Da Dee.
Spoiler:
They're actually playing in my state next month. I wish, wish, wish so deeply to go see them live...!
