Oblivion Mod Manager VS Nexus Mod Manager?

I was wondering about this for a while and I can't seem to get an answer as to which is better to use, or rather what I should be using to begin with. Can I use Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) for Oblivion and Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) for Skyrim without any issues? Or must I rely on NMM instead of OBMM for some reason? I don't know if this helps, but I am going to play through Oblivion first and then go on to play Skyrim. Also, is there anything important to install or patch (like in Morrowind when using MGSE) before using either Mod Managers?

Thank you.

That's what I do, and I haven't had any issues yet.

i like the Oblivion Mod Manager more, but they're pretty much identical in their usefulness for me. Use whatever you like; there's virtually no difference.

Oblivion and Skyrim are two different games, so using one manager with one, and another manager with the other shouldn't cause any problems. Nexus Mod Manager installs in Program folder, thus to be regarded as a general tool for Nexus related mods. You should be able to use one installation with all games it supports - today an Oblivion mod, tomorrow a Skyrim one.

Personally, I still like the good old handyman method: download the mod, unzip it, and put it where it belongs. But that's me, please forgive.

I prefer downloading manually, but I use OBMM to change load order, unpack BSA files, and download mods that the creators make it unnecessarily impossible to download manually. *Glares at better cities*

I am really not going to need mod managers for skyrim so long as I don't decide to download a heavy, impossible to manual install, mod.
