New world, new life: A pokémon RP
As regions go, the isolated islands the make up the region of Eltiqua is a bit of an oddball.
The region, made up of the five islands of Huinjoh, Hoarjin, Tondae, Sinjoan and Ho-Shuntae along with several smaller islands distinguishes itself by having not only a Pokémon League, but also an active presence of the Pokémon Rangers, too. Contrary to most other places, where the two organizations usually stay to their own devices, they coexist in Eltiqua, split between the North, where the developed, industrial cities are numerous, and where the Pokémon League stand strong, and the South-East, the more rural part where the Ranger Union of Eltiqua are more popular. In between, they share.
Also unusual is the fact that Eltiqua’s league, despite being in a divided region, has a stunning 17 gyms, as well as the league. This has had a great deal of trainers journeying to Eltiqua in search of the ultimate challenge for trainers.
You will start as a newbie trainer in Nova Town, on the northern coast of Huinjoh, the north-western island of the archipelago. The region’s authority on pokémon, Professor Jeremy Maple, resides there, and from him you will be given one of the three starters of Eltiqua (Don’t worry, no fakemon) and set out on your journey to be the best.
On your way, you will encounter hardships, fun, adventures, but most of all the marvel that is Eltiqua.
Gameplay:
Put simply, it will go like this: You are a trainer. You want to conquer the Pokémon League of Eltiqua, with whatever adventure that brings you.
Please bear in mind that the following things will be done with the supervision of the DM:
Battles between players and against important DM Characters such as Gym Leaders.
Evolution.
Moves learned (Except by TM (Remember: Must be compatible)).
In battles against standard trainers, you are given free reins to RP them out as you wish, but please note that these battles will receive less focus over the course of the RP. Battles in which the DM supervises will consist of the DM deciding whether or not your attack hit (Based on dice roll) and then you are free to act out what your Pokémon does, building on that. As such, you are free to decide when your pokémon faints even in those battles, however the DM will force-faint you if I deem it unrealistic.
Rules:
1. No godmodding.
2. No Mary Sues.
3. Proper grammar, punctuation and capitalization.
4. Please no coloured text, as the DM has trouble reading it.
5. No idiocy. Abide by common sense.
6. Only one character per person, save for very minor, one-shot characters like parents etc.
7. Get your character approved!
8. You can have the usual 6 pokémon on your team. I will allow two players to play together as a double team which will play exclusively double battles, but that will limit those players to only three pokémon outside their pc box. Please make arrangements with another player before the RP starts if you want to play double battles.
9. No sexual anything between characters below the age 15, 15 included. Kissing is exempted.
10. Failure to comply by rules 1 to 9 will result in polite chastising and, if the issue persists, eventually you will be kicked.
11. In addition, inactivity for one week without good reason will also result in kicking.

Battling
Battles between the players and battles between a player and a regular trainer can be sorted out without the DM's help. Wild battles and battles with important characters cannot be carried out without the DM's presence.
They will work on a system like this:
I have a 20d dice roll website open, and use that to determine whether DM pokémon hit or not based on accuracy, since every accuracy number is divisible by 5, which then matches a number on the 20 sided die. The players do that with their own pokémon as well. Of course, if a move has 100 accuracy, I'll have it be at least a 3, so there's at least a risk of it missing. So, example:
Example: Screech has an accuracy of 85 %. 85 divided by 5 is 17. Ergo, for screech to hit, I must roll a 4 or larger, since the last three is out of the range. A 1 and a 2 is always a miss, and the three is the last five percent of the remaining 90 %.
Moves learning and evolution is ALWAYS determined by the DM, as well as wild pokémon encounters.
Wild pokémon encounter phases
These happen while travelling between cities and other important locations. They follow the current scheme:
1. The DM announces which pokémon can be met, how big of a roll you need to roll to encounter the different pokémon, and how many encounter rolls you get.
2. The players roll all encounter rolls and report them to the DM or the co-DM, along with what pokémon they want to attempt at capturing.
3. The trainers battle the wild pokémon in order, and this follows standard battle rules (See that). Damage is determined by the DM or co-DM using a mixture of dice roll size and whatever the DM feels like.
4. A catching phase lasts until the trainer chooses to stop (You don’t have to use all rolls), the trainer runs out of rolls or all the trainer’s pokémon faint.
5. When all trainers have finished their catching phase, they do casual RPing (perhaps battle each other(But ONLY using pokémon NOT caught during the current catching session) until the DM returns (Usually at around 8 or 9 in the morning GMT+1) and makes the plot go forward.
