Seriously, right? How perfect would he be for a classic Arnold remake?

Not that The Rock is anywhere near as fine a thespian as the Guvernatah, but I'd be willing to watch any number of Arnold remakes if they starred The Rock. Predator, with The Rock? True Lies, with The Rock? Kindergarten Cop, with The Rock? I might skip Junior With The Rock, but Total Rock-call would be the best movie of the year, hands down.

I'm assuming the fact that you didn't include 'WTF they r remaking Total Recall' as a bullet point is because that's painfully obvious.

Next will be Blade Runner, I imagine.

Why does Hollywood make these things? I don't see why they don't just re-release films instead of remaking them.

Hey! HEY! Don't give 'em any ideas. The only thing worse than boring scifi noir is boring CGI scifi noir.

Blade Runner is one of my all-time favourite films and I'm not interested in hearing yet more of your incessant negativity about it. Just know that I lost all faith in film-makers when I heard that Spiderman is coming back this year.

I lost faith when the first Transformers movie released.

Avatar proved that any tripe can make a brazilian dollars when well marketed.

I'd NEVER be negative about Blade Runner. It's a classic, and I loved that movie... at least until I watched it. But it's OK, because it was so boring that I forgot 95% of what I saw! So I can still pretend like I've never seen it before, and bask in all it's theoretical glory.

Ah, yes, Blade Runner. A modern classic.

Some sentences I hate more than stubbing my toe:
"Transformers 3 is my favorite movie"
"Have you seen the trailer to the Avengers movie coming out? It looks s11ck"
"I just watched Mission Impossible 18: The Ghost of Tom Cruise, AWESOME"
"Are you kidding me? Spiderman is so much better than, how do you pronounce that movie name, Federico Fellili's Casablanca?"

Let me guess ,it'll take an hour to get to the part where he enters Recall, it won't be on Mars, it will be full of movie cliches, and consistency errors up the wazoo.

Edit: Oh, and it'll probably build up to a meaningless sequel, when the original had none.

Only good part will be the location CGI which will be where all of the budget went into.

Thank you Doros. However, I had all the proof that Hollywood hates me I needed when Lucas released the Special Edition of A New Hope and Greedo shot first. Not only did they allow him to ruin The Trilogy, he was allowed to screw with Indy too.

Hollywood has a history of taking things that were huge hits, waiting until the fans that made them hits are too old to be relevant, as it were, and trying to re-release it for the new generation. Well, they get it wrong every time, and here's why: the generation that remembers the original is always disappointed at a remake, since there is always some kind of change; while the new generation, having never seen the original, misses out on a lot of the nostalgia factor, and thus, doesn't find it that appealing. One would think they'd have learned their lesson by now, but it must work at least most of the time, otherwise, it wouldn't be economically viable to keep trying.

EDIT: IPs based on comic books MIGHT be the one exception since, yes, people get disappointed at remakes of the movies themselves, but the comic books have been and are still around, and so the IP retains more of its relevance for its "new" audience.

I stopped trolling more than a decade ago. I wish I had been though. What will Bay ruin next?

Ugh. This reminds me of that Repomen crap. The movie could have been good, it would have been perfect... except the ending. It's even worse than ME3. Repomen had the hero do everything he needed to do to be a hero, and what do they do? In the last 5 minutes they reveal it was all just a dream and kill him off halfway through the film. What kind of an ending is that? That's not clever or even cliche. It's just bad and horribly forced.

Anyhow, just remember Sturgeons Law: 99% of everything is crap, but once in a while we get a Fight Club or The Usual Suspects out of the deal.

With Han, it, in my eyes, is a bad thing that Greedo shot first; is cause they try to seem like it was in Han's self-defense. No, he shot Greedo cause he was a risk, he shot him cause he worked for Jabba, he shot him in cold-blood. Smugglers aren't Jedi, they don't need to be seen in a pure light, they do what they must to survive.

I never really liked Star Wars, they got to cliche after the second, I was all cool with a space war and people struggling to live in a corrupt galactic Empire, but when the started to bring in the force and all the other stuff it ruined it for me, felt way too out of place even though that's now it's main staple.

It seemed like a cool post-apocalyptic world on Tatooine but then as soon as they left that planet so did my interest for the movies.
