Don't think there is a thread like this..
Anyways, here are mine:
1. The X Files
2. The Sopranos
3. True Blood
4. Nip/Tuck
5. Mad Men

Also I would like to mention: It's always sunny in Philadelphia, Californication, Fraiser, Cybil.

1. The Situation Room w/ Wolf Blitzer
2. John King, USA
3. Q&A w/ Brian Lamb
4. Real Time w/ Bill Maher
5. Doc Martin

That's the current list. When I was a kid syndicated Knight Rider was where it was at. Honorable mentions go to comedy specials by Carlin, Quinn, Seinfeld, Louis C.K. etc.

As far as live-action TV shows?

1. Breaking Bad
(seriously, why isn't this number one on EVERYONE'S list?!)
2. Battlestar Galactica
3. Top Gear
4. Mythbusters
5. Rome

Honorable mentions to Dexter, True Blood, Walking Dead, Dirty Jobs, and GoT, which would have been in except it's only been on for one season now, and I'd rather wait before making a serious commitment like placing it on a Top 5 list.

Wolf Blitzer

My favorite Wolf Blitzer moment.

In random order:

The Killing (season 1 only, season 2 sucks imo)
Family Guy
Boardwalk Empire
Het Eiland (Belgian TV-show)
Top Gear

While we're on the subject of cable news, did you hear about the new talent Fox picked up for this year's election season?

1. Jeeves & Wooster.
2. Sliders.
3. La Femme Nikita.
4. Kingdom.
5. Midsomer Murders.

Jeeves & Wooster is arguably the greatest program of all time.

1) Monday Night Raw
2) Sports Center

That's kinda it..

I'm a big fan of Joad Cressbeckler. I find that his hard-hitting, straight-talking journalism really resonates with my inner grizzled prospector.

In all seriousness, I would totally watch Fox News if they gave the JC his own show.

I love PG Wodehouse. I've got five or six of his books on my bedside table alone.

I have all the books of the Jeeves cycle (in the original), except Aunts Aren't Gentlemen, which I only have as an audio book. I also have a misc short story collection by Wodehouse.
P.G.Wodehouse is one of my favourite authors - and an inexhaustible source of examples for coursework on English stylistics. When I was preparing for my English Stylistics exam this winter, I stuffed Wodehouse into every question possible. Now I am often borrowing examples from his works for the thesis I have to write on English dialogue.

Scozzar wrote:1. The Simpsons (older episodes)

The Simpsons was my favorite show ever, hands down. A pity that the last ten seasons have been almost as bad as Skyrim. And speaking of the 'sons, get that Youtube Grabber out because you'll want to snag this before the DMCA ruins our fun.

Difficult one for me as I don't watch TV that much anymore.

But in no particular order:

Numb3rs
NCIS: Los Angeles
The Wire
Red Dwarf
There was a programme back in the eighties on the Beeb, can't remeber the name - The premises was a group of people escaping from a hunter team solving various intellectual and physical puzzles to do so.
Blackadder

Honourable mentions to NCIS, Burn Notice (what I'm currently watching), South Park, The Young Ones, Band of Brothers (the books relating to Easy Co. are better though).

1. NFL

Whch means I have not watched much TV lately.

I only turned on the TV twice in the last week. For Two hours on Monday, and Two hours on Friday.

A few years ago it would have been: (in no order)
Buffy
Angel
Firefly
Charmed
X-Files

Nowadays:
1. X-Files
2. Twin Peaks
3. South Park (although the series has lost a bit of its originallity the last couple of years I think they are heading in a good direction now)
4. Modern Family (thank you for a comedie series with no "studio audience")
5. Ultimate Survival/Man vs. Wild

1. South Park - No other show has made me laugh this much, they speak their minds and really don't care about all the red tape present in society today. I'm actually surprised they got away with quite a of the episodes. I don't believe it's gone downhill at all, just adapted over the years to not be the same thing over and over.

2. Game of Thrones - Not only was my favourite actor ever in this (Sean Bean), but the plot, acting, directing and the environments are just spectacular. I truly can not wait for the second season to arrive, I have never been more excited about a programs return. After a few good seasons, this could easily take my no.1 spot.

3. The Walking Dead - A very good post-apocalyptic series. It's not quite as good as Game of Thrones in the acting/directing/etc. department, but their is a lot more character development which is nice. Also theor have been some proper cringy, and adrenaline inducing moments throughout both seasons.

4. Doctor Who - I don't know what it is about this show, but I love it. I think the eccentric Doctors make it what it is, their companions have also always fitted perfectly with them. Very easy to watch, and good to chill out to... it's also British.

5. I'm not sure what to put here: Sherlock Holmes, Supernatural, Burn Notice and Psych are all pretty good... NCIS to for that matter.

I only liked The Doctor until 1981, when Tom Baker left (personally TB is my favourite Doctor although John Pertwee was very good, I will always see him as Wurzel Gummidge), Peter Davison wasn't too bad and the last two who names escape have been ok. But the 4 in between were pants.

Star Trek
Robot Chicken
Metalocalypse
The Big Bang Theory
The Walking Dead

1. Family guy
2. 2 1/2 men with Charlie
3. Everybody loves Raymond
4. Spartacus
5. One Tree Hill

DorostheConqueror wrote:

Yes. Though it's not my number 1.

1. LOST (Go get stuffed, haters)
2. Family Guy
3. Breaking Bad
4. Futurama
5. House

That is quite a tough question, but I'll try my best. In no particular order, and I'm probably missing many:

Crime/Thriller:

• NCIS - The Original, not the L.A. spin-off
• The Mentalist
• Lie to Me
• Castle
• Law& Order
• Burn Notice

Comedy:

• Seinfeld
• Everybody Loves Raymond
• Frasier
• Rules of Engagement
• King of Queens
• Rake
• Doc Martin
• The Big Bang Theory

Yeah, I listed 6 and 7, so sue me!

Game Of Thrones
Community
Sherlock
Family Guy
Top Gear (UK)

After those top five would be NCIS, Flight of the Conchords, HIMYM, White Collar, and The Big Bang Theory.

Spoiler:

I just noticed this, but I must say, it is quite full of win .

You watch a lot of TV, Duruza. I only watch Jeeves and Wooster these days.
