Quests [Trouble in Skyrim] and [Blood on the Ice] still broken with 1.4 update.
[Trouble in Skyrim]
Go to Foresaken Cave to kill the leader, leader is already dead. As a result of this, the Companions will not give me anymore work. Too bad the game does not allow you to remove work that was previously agreed to.
[Blood on the Ice]
Go to crime scene, cannot complete the quest.
Nice work Bethesda.

Everyone says it's broken, but the only problem I had was
Of course, my game seems to be remarkably bug-free.

This game is so buggy! It's unbearable! They aren't perfect enough for me! Bethesda hates true fans! It glitches once every twelve odd hours, which I can't handle!

Now, now. Let's not be too unkind around here.
I haven't experienced any bugs since the midnight release on my PC, and I'm rather grateful. It seems to affect some more than others. I think console owners got it particularly bad, if I'm not mistaken - that just seems to be my observation. I could be wrong.

I haven't had any problems with the PS3 patch yet. In fact, the game is running smoother now, even on my 11mb save file.

I have a few legitimate problems that have endured the last three patches. They're not game breaking but they take a little of the fun out of it for me. I'll try to name them all if I remember them.
- My game now crashes and freezes if I enter Jorrvaskr and exit it again, so I can't do any more quests for the Companions or retrieve the Stone of Barenziah in the Harbinger's quarters. I'm actually already the Harbinger, so I only have repeatable quests left to do, but I enjoy them.
- The repeatable Dragonslaying quest for the Blades is broken. The Dragons don't respawn, and the three Blades agents are stuck in place where one of them is supposed to.
- Several of the regional bounty quests are broken as well. The quests are either not clickable in the journal, or when you do there's no compass marker. If you fast travel there anyway, there's no enemies spawned. They never seem to come back. I've had a bounty to kill a giant at Guldan Rock since late November.
- I can't turn in Finn's Lute for some reason, and I don't even get the option to turn in other rare bard's instruments I've found. I get the dialogue option for the lute and a promise to be shown some tricks, but it stops there and nothing happens.
- I can't purchase the house in Windhelm or start the Blood on the Ice mission. I've read guides about backpaths for the latter but I wanna do it start to finish. I have a secondary character who did it just fine but with my main it's never gonna start, it seems. I did finish the Civil War questline fairly early in my playthrough and I sided with the Imperials, and that's supposed to partially explain this, but it was supposed to be fixed.
- There's a couple of other minor quests in my journal that don't seem doable or won't go away. I can't turn in dragon scales or bones to Esbern, for instance, and the old quests to investigate the Bard's College or the College of Winterhold never go away despite me having been a member of both for months.

Besides a few graphical bugs here and there, I've been bug free since release on Xbox.

I've been completely bug and glitch free on XBOX. In over 400 hours I have had only two crashes and both happened when leaving a cell. One trick I learned is when it is slow loading between cells is to hold the GUIDE button until you hear it beep. Don't know why this helps but it seems to work.

Which one exactly is the GUIDE button again? The big X?

On Xbox, the game crashed about 3 times pretty much right after I put the game in (when Alduin burst in the tower in the tutorial, running through the buildings in the tutorial, and in the courtyard where Alduin lands). Now, besides minor graphics bugs and whatnot, it's been perfect.. until I got the patches.

two of my word walls still won't couch up the word and i still can't get the quest to hand over the curious silver mold. those are the only bugs i'm currently aware of impacting my game. Oh and my bard college items I picked up I still can't drop.

I'm on a PS3 and I have some of the same exact problems:

I can purchase the house in Windhelm, the quest begins, but I cant go farther than that.
Also I can't ever become a thane in Riften or Markarth.

I'm pretty sure that all of the Bard Instrument quests are glitched
if you find the instrument before being given the quest.

Good to hear! I had just heard lots of console users complaining, so I had the misconception that PC users had less bugs. I'm glad to see that I'm rather mistaken indeed.

That's what happened, and it's unfortunate. It doesn't help that literally all of them were in dungeons other quests sent me to, so I naturally picked up those unique items when I found them as any curious gamer would.

You think if we paid for the game, we wouldn't get a half assed attempt that we spent $100 on.
Complaining about bugs is quite fair when we spent so much on an overhyped game.

No wonder you're upset, $100 is a terrible price for a video game. Might I suggest shopping somewhere else next time?

United States... I didn't mean any offense by that post, by the way.

Well hurr durr 100 is a lot for you, I was speaking in Australian currency.
