Solar War - A Futuristic War RP

Around 2460, the Earth was a much quieter place...
The population was reduced to nearly 2 billion once the Colonization in space started. Ceres and Pluto have been colonized by humans, while the other dwarf planets Haumea and Makemake have been cracked open for resources, and Pluto and Eris remain neutral dwarfs. Humans have furthered space exploration into nearby star systems, but have only found life in one...
The Krieger Star system has been explored, but only lightly colonized by humans. In fact, the only successfully colonized planet is Reylas, a highly populated alien planet. Populated mostly not by humans... But by three races living there: The Xandarians, Arsorians, and Critorians.

Planets

Krieger System
Spoiler:
Reylas: A earth-like planet currently in shambles. Also the human colonial hub in the system. Many bands of people are buying spaceships and flying off to other planets to start new empires...

Godspeed: A gas giant that isn't currently inhabited... Or thought to be habitable.

Kai: A planet that is only inhabited by tribes of a strange bipedal tribal race. Habitable, but mostly jungles.

Genji: Dark on one side, but always day on the other. The planet does not spin due to Godspeed's extremely powerful magnetic field. Completely uninhabited.
Sol System Yes, that's our solar system.
Spoiler:
Earth: In shambles also, people are still colonizing and leaving.

Mars: the "ideal" colonization planet... Or so people thought, until they realized what nature can do.

Venus: Very, VERY dangerous to inhabit. Humans have tried before, only resulting in complete destruction of their civilization.

Mercury: Far too close to the Sun to inhabit.

Jupiter: A well-known Critorian colony. They currently inhabit cities only slightly anchored to the solid core.

Saturn: A now dead human colony. But still inhabitable, if you have the right stuff.

Neptune: Like other gas giants, totally habitable, but difficult to inhabit.

Uranus: Same as with any other gas giant...
Planets can be inhabited by anyone, if you're willing to take the risks that come with it. You can either start on the planet you claim (You better come up with a good story of how you got there), or on your origin planet (Which is the race's home planet OR colony planet).
HINT: Planet cracking vessels have gravity anchors. Gas giants have cores. Put the pieces together.

Races
Spoiler:
Humans: Extremely advanced. Have developed extremely fast antimatter powered space travel, however still relying on typical projectile weapons.

Xandarians: Reptilian race. Modern-day grade technology, though rapidly advancing due to human contact. They can travel through space, but only at the rate of the Space Shuttle (VERY slow). They usually buy spacecraft from humans.

Critorians: A race of extremely sophisticated bipedal tiger-people. They are very hardy and generally live in the colder regions of Reylas. They are equally, if not more advanced than humans, but refuse to share their technologies with other races. Known to be racial supremacists.

Arsorians: Anarchist tribal people. They are known to look just like Xandarians except with striped patterns and darker skin. They steal technologies of other races, and are well known to be excellent battle strategists.

Arctis and Rynn: A hypothetical race supposedly spotted by dozens of supply ships. Rumored to be so ridiculously advanced in technology, that they can split a massive planet cracking vessel in half with a single missile. Most scientists consider their existence as rubbish. Since they are technically non-existent, you cannot play as them.
A note on races... You do not have to have a nation or group of characters made up of one race, however, your main character dictates where you start your story from.

How To Play:
Well, you use the character/nation sheet to enter, and tell the story of your struggles to be on top in the dangerous Colonization Era. Keep in mind that the ship is GIGANTIC. It's meant to land and anchor on a planet, and has three orbital fleet ships (For invasion) included with it. And you can capture or steal more if you need.

Nation Specializations:
Your nation, empire, etc., can specialize in industry, guns, explosives, spacecraft, vehicles, or aircraft. Industry gives you the ability to create large fleet ships, instead of having to rely on stealing or capturing them. All others allow you to produce more complex things of that type. However, you can only have two specializations, so choose wisely!

I think rules are self-explanatory really...

Yes, in fact, those moons are probably very rich in minerals...

Nation Name: The Commonwealth
Nation Type:(Defensive, Offensive, and Peaceful) Defensive
Nation Leader: Emperor Umbra
Nation Capital City/Village: Pax
Nation Location: In the ocean of Reylas.
Specialization: Industry, aircraft
Player: AMM

Leader Sheet:

Name: Emperor Umbra
Age: 220 (There is a reason, I'll PM VirtualWeasel)
Bio: Read the full bio.
Race: Human
Description:There is a chance you'll recognize this face

Spoiler:
There are five city states of The Commonwealth, a mostly human nation. Each is roughly the size of Connecticut. They are Pax, the capitol, along with New India, Sirona, Melbourne, and Eden. What makes The Commonwealth unique is the fact that all five city states are under the ocean. The people of The Commonwealth live under huge underwater sea domes, thick enough to survive a nuclear blast and advanced enough to filter oxygen from the water. Each city state is about 50 miles apart from each other. To travel across city states, citizens take submarines that are as common as cars and just travel.

The current Commonwealth produces very efficient technology. In New India, the city state is mostly dominated by large factories where citizens and engineers work. Barely anyone lives in New India, instead coming and going from Sirona, a middle class state where almost everyone has a job in New India. Melbourne is a different story. It has several large aerospace factories and research institutes where scientists and engineers make aircrafts, and space exploration devices. It is higher class than Sirona. Eden is very divided by wealth. On one side, it has some of the best universities in the universe, in fact, humans and aliens alike come from all around to learn at Calixto’s Institution of Learning, or the cheaper yet still quality State Eden College. On the other side of Eden, farmers and hunters live, exploring the ocean and hunting sea animals for food for The Commonwealth. Pax, the capitol, is dominated by the huge castle of Umbra. Besides the castle, the state is made up of large mansions and artificial parks.

The Commonwealth’s story begins a few hundreds of years ago with President Geoffrey Umbra. He was a fairly demanding conservative man who ruled The Commonwealth with an iron fist. President Geoffrey was only the third President of The Commonwealth, so there wasn’t much of a precedent for terms; therefore Umbra threw out the 4 year term limit. At the time, he was successful and strong, and almost nobody argued.

But it seemed that the more Umbra ruled the more paranoid he grew. He started inflicting punishments upon the people of The Commonwealth who disagreed with him. It started with prison, then exile, then death. Twice, he was the target of assassinations, both inside his own cabinet. Umbra announced he was going to do what no man had ever done before: achieve immortality so he could rule without fear and forever.

Umbra was announced as insane as he withdrew into the palace in Pax with a team of 50 scientists and researchers and engineers. Couriers were sent in and out thousands of times, but other than that no activity was reported from Umbra.

This continued for six months as The Commonwealth was ruled by Umbra’s only son. He was considered President by most, but then… it happened. President Geoffrey Umbra emerged from the castle. He announced that he had achieved immortality, and he was destined to be The Commonwealth’s eternal Emperor.

There was immediate dissent among the people, including Umbra’s son. The Son gathered forces quickly and within a day of the announcement attempted to run a coup against Umbra. The rebellion was crushed harshly and Umbra’s son put to death.

Rebellions continued to appear all over The Commonwealth over the apparent Emperor’s insanity, but they were systematically crushed by the military. The Rebellions continued nonstop for 70 years. Over 700,000 rebels died during what was called the Infidel Rebellions. The Commonwealth was seen little more as a failed state in a constant civil war. After 70 years passed, reason finally took over the people of The Commonwealth. Umbra was as young as ever, and he was as powerful as ever. He was still ruling from his palace in Pax, still making public appearances. The citizens of the Commonwealth realized that he truly was immortal, what he had been saying 70 years ago was the truth. Almost all rebellions stopped. To show what a kind ruler he could be, Umbra put all resources to rebuild the damaged empire. Eventually, his goal was realized. The Commonwealth regained its old glory and a grand parade was held in Pax. Over one million people attended the formal recognition that Emperor Umbra was not merely immortal… he was a god.

Emperor Umbra has had little problems since the Declaration of Divinity. Foreign experts have many theories on how the Emperor has achieved the feat of immortality, but to this day it is only known by a select few. The day he became immortal, Emperor Umbra had all of the couriers, scientists, engineers, and everyone else he had hired to help make him immortal executed silently.

To this day, Emperor Umbra has not taken a wife or given another child to the world. Emperor Umbra is surprisingly liberal for an Emperor, he does not limit the knowledge his citizens have access to, nor does he discourage opposing political parties… although he knows out of fear/respect for him, the population will never turn against him. He is seen by the majority of the people as an actual god. Ever since the end of the Infidel Rebellions, he has done nothing but good for the Commonwealth.
As the red blooded american that I so naturally am, making an Emperor was hard. But, I managed. ;)

I think I'll join this one, although I can't see myself having time to fill out an application form in any great detail until at least the weekend (which isn't that far away thank god, only one more week day left!)

Might be Critorian or Human, but I'm interested in the Arctis and Rynn, do we get any more of a description about them?

Nation

Nation Name: Jovian Confederation
Nation Type: Offensive
Nation Leader: Ivan Falcken
Nation Capital City: Valhalla (Callisto)
Nation Location: Jupiter and the Jovian Moons Io, Europa, Callisto and Ganymede.
Specialization: Industrial, Spacecraft
Nation Bio: The Confederation is made up of settlements and stations on Jupiter's four largest moons and in the planet itself's atmosphere. The population is largely first, second, third and fourth generation colonists that moved to the harshness of the Jovian moons to escape poverty. Each of the moons has had some level of terraforming done, with varying degrees of effectiveness.
Callisto: The most heavily populated world of Jupiter's system, Callisto is the centre of conventional mining for the raw materials that feed Io's shipyards. It is also a manufacturing and industrial giant in it's own right. The rocky, black sphere is the most heavily terraformed, with much of the world covered in mosses, lichens, and pinewood. In a massively controversial move many years ago, Halley's comet was tethered and dragged to the planet, providing vast amounts of water. Both poles are capped by ice, and the central climes are still cool to cold. In the Valhalla crater in the northern hemisphere, a massive city and port has been built, sprawling across the rugged world. The air is breathable and the pressure is low, but tolerable by human standards.
Europa: This icy globe is thinly populated, housing only a few major settlements. The insertion of luminous, chemically engineered algaes in the oceans beneath the ice give the night side of the planet an awe inspiring, flickering glow, compared by some to the Northern Lights... Except shining through the very surface of the icy world. The air is too thin to breathe necessitating rebreathers, and it is too cold to venture outside without extreme cold weather gear.
Io: The Jovian system's economic powerhouse. From space, Io is certainly formidable. The angry crimson, black and orange world is encircled by a black, manmade ring that houses the shipbuilding industries. The planet is home to dozens of mining and geothermal energy sites, providing raw materials and raw energy to feed the shipyards that are silhouetted black against the sky, anchored by the moon's magnetic field. The atmosphere and pressure are both breathable for short periods of time, but bring severe respiratory disorders if breathed for extended periods (ie, months.) In the cities, citizens have taken to wearing rebreathers.
Ganymede: Big, flat, and boring. The largest of Jupiter's moons remains much as it was when first spotted from earth. It has little to no resources, and presents no real reason for colonization. Small colonies exist, mostly in military roles. The primary army base is on the southern pole of the moon. The planet has been terraformed to a degree that only respirators are required to survive outside. The plants responsible are sad little grey patches of lichen that inhabit the sunny, quiet grey planes of the planet.
Jupiter: The focal point of the system, Jupiter is home to more than a hundred small gas mines that provide resources to Io. Within the atmosphere circle two massive stations, essentially floating cities. (think, the shape of Bespin in SW:V with the demeanour of Omega in ME2.) They are havens of gambling, crime, and prostitution. Aliens are easy to find, and are as much a part of the scenery as the ironic swirling golden image of heaven seen through the windows. Critorian and Arsorian girls are often employed as dancers and prostitutes.

The military is formed of the Army and the Navy, of which the Navy is the larger and more powerful force.
Army: The army is relatively small, but well trained. it is devoted to the defence of the Moons, and the theoretical possibility of an invasion of another world. They are largely armed with basic, low-tech assault weapons and basic conventional explosives. They have a large compliment of tanks.
Navy: The crown jewel of the Confederation is the massive, unmatched Grand Navy. It is comprised of hundreds of Capital Ships, more than a thousand Frigates and Corvettes, and a sizeable compliment of Fighters. There are a wide variety of models of ship in service. Io is constantly at work on new vessels to expand the great force.
*The merchant fleet of the Confederation, is massively larger in numbers than the Navy. The freighters and haulers of Jovian origins bring the system's wealth all throughout the systems, and are almost always well armed.
*Not without good reason, the areas around Jupiter are legendary for being roamed by prolific pirates. You've been warned, be careful, matey. Arr.

Player: Eltee

Leader

Name: Ivan Falcken
Age: 52
Race: Human, born on Callisto.
Bio: Falcken fought in several minor conflicts within the Jovian system before managing to bring unity to the small system. He rules with an iron fist, which is received remarkably well by the hardy colonists.
Description: Prime Minister Falcken is a tall, wiry man, with black hair shot with silver and a sort, well trimmed beard. He has piercing grey eyes. He has a rather gravelly, no-nonsense voice.
