Fork and Knife

Today, my friend told me of a trick you can do in Honeyside (in Riften). What you do is go to the porch and pick up the fork and knife, which can then be wielded as weapons. I checked, and he was right. Now, is this an easter egg or are there more of these fork and knife-weapons?

WHAT? I want this! Do you actually have to buy Honeyside to get it...? Because I'm pretty happy with Proudspire manor, don't really want to spend 8 thousand to get a fork and a knife...

Great for roleplaying as a chef or butcher.

I echo the OP's curiosity. Are these the only ones you can pick up? I see forks sitting on tables all the time, but you can't interact with them.

I remembered reading somewhere on the Wiki that the Fork and Knife are useable weapons, and I thought my game was glitched because I could never pick any of them up. Then today, I bought the Porch upgrade for Honeyside, and found the interactive cutlery there. Now I'm wondering if they can be improved at a Grindstone.

Considering Human Hearts, a Chef's Hat and Tunic, and the Fork and Knife are available in the game, there's potential for some weird Hannibal Lecter role playing Skyrim. Has anyone found a nice Chianti and some fava beans?

Forks are apparently classed as daggers, and cannot be improved at the grindstone

Doesn't most wine in Skyrim look like Chianti? Surely Alto Wine is equivalent to that.

Can they be enchanted?

There's another set on the mountainside of High Hrothgar.

I think you have to shout at unpickable cutlery to be able to pick them up. But you need to find the right angle or they fly all over the place. Or maybe that only works for the ones on High Hrothgar..

There is a pickuppable fork in Calixto's House of Curiosities

edit: Forget it, you can't equip that one.

I visited the Dark Brotherhood last night (they weren't very friendly) and saw some cutlery on tables, so maybe that's an option?

If Cicero has the crazy jester personality going on, why couldn't you be the homicidal chef?

I did a check with the knife and fork from Honeyside - you can't smith them but apparently you can enchant them. Although after having them equipped for a while they stopped showing on my character (when wielded or on my hip when "sheathed"), so they may be buggy if you try to use them regularly.

There's a Hannibal Traven in Oblivion, but that isn't really relevant. Fava beans could be Juniper berries or something.

I am totally going to make a fava beans and Chianti mod when I get home tonight :Twisted Evil:

I know this is pretty thin, but it's a nice coincidence, if nothing else. I believe Hannibal Lecter's first appearance was in the novel Red Dragon.

Perhaps some of Bethesda's developers are fans of the master cannibal.

Hopefully. Isn't lycanthropy kind of related to the cannibalism and such? Or not, cause a werewolf and a human are different races.

I use the Fork for roleplaying a Worshipper of Sheogorath. On an eternal quest to make it into the Fork of Horripilation.

I don't think it's that they're a different race, because that would imply that you would have to have been born that way, but while in werewolf form you are a lycanthrope, so I guess technically they are.
You could always wear the ring of Namira though :)

Sometime soon I'm going to go through the entire Namira quest with just the fork and knife.

Vampirism as well.
