Which weapon do you prefer, Mehrunes' Razor or Dawnbreaker?
I have both these artifacts and would like to know your opinions on both. Personally I prefer Mehrunes' Razor because although it does slightly less damage than Dawnbreaker it has a chance of instakill.

I like Dawnbreaker. It glows when undead are about. Also it looks so cool and in general I like long blades in RPGs. On a side note I miss Umbra and Goldbrand.

Anyway, I don't get this thread. If you want to do upfront combat you can chose a sword, if you want to fully exploit the sneak attack bonus you draw a dagger.
You could just as well be asking whether people like candy or gasoline better...

I like to dual wield mehrune's razor in my left hand and dawnbreaker in my right.

Dawnbreaker became my favorite when It saved me numerous times in Skuldafn

Umbra was destroyed was it not? In the infernal city? But anyway Razor is my preferred because it gets 30x damage or 15x in regular armor

It's a percentage chance... It'd be possible for ALL the hits to be instant kills.

yeah but 1% still doesnt seem accurate

Most seem to prefer Dawnbreaker because it's higher damage, but since I prefer stealth kills the Razor wins for me. The Razor is a really good dagger and I've used it for ages before I found something better, but Dawnbreaker really isn't that great of a sword. The special effect is nice but when you get to the higher levels you find way better one handed weapons. The Razor on the other hand will last you for a long time (as a dagger) as I've mentioned. Plus it looks badass

dawnbreaker is a bit disappointing imo, my home made ebony sword is better, and dual wielding it with the razer is quick and deadly

Razor is high quality, definitely the best dagger, in my opinion. However... Dawnbreaker is unmatched against undead, and it just has that "wow" factor of making enemies explode into an inferno of righteous flame. So cool.

Depends. I'd go with Dawnbreaker. All daggers, even with their 15x/30x damage bonuses, are inferior when you have 100 Smithing, One-Handed and Enchanting(for those +One-Handed Damage % enchantments).

I never used any of them. As a matter of fact I never used any daedric artifact in Skyrim apart from the Wabbajack.

Dawnbreaker may be better because the 1 hit kill in Mehrunes' Razor is random. And since I don't have THAT luck...

Mehrunes razor is good when you are fighting high level enemies such as frost dragons, there is always that chance that they can be killed instantly. For basic dungeon raiding, use dawnbreaker.

Dawnbreaker wins on looks. Razor wins for the auto kill coolness.

I prefer Mehrune's razor, Dawnbreaker is just far inferior stats-wise to other swords, it cools awesome though. Mehrune's razor, while the attack is low, has an instant kill chance so it's still useful. But also I do use daggers for assassination a lot since I have the perk, so I can basically one hit kill anything with any dagger.

Depends, if I'm a warrior type I will take Dawnbreaker, if I'm a stealth type, the dagger is the way to go.

I love the Dawnbreaker. That thing is the definition of crowd controll in nordic ruins where the room is set for all the draugr to come out at once.
Plus it reminds me of Sting because of how it lights up when undeads are close.

Dawnbreaker, the AoE undead control is too good in bad looking situation
It's too weak for me now, so I propped it on a weapon rack and pay respects to it and how many times it saved my life every time I pass by

I know it wasn't an option, but I have a bit of sentimentality for the Blade of Woe.
