I failed the quest Stronghold of the Blades, not knowing it was part of the main quest when I did it, and I don't have any save prior to it.

I tried using http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:Thawbin.zip To reset the main subplot "Lhotun" so I would only have to redo "The Missing Prince" and "The Wayrest Painting" (I had done everything up to "The orcish treaty"). Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I get the correct output from the program ("Lhotun subplot enabled" after running "thaw 0 lhotun") and I've checked the timestamp of savetree.dat to make sure it's been changed.

I also tried removing everything from my inventory and wagon, to make sure I don't have any letter or such I should receive after doing the Missing Prince quest, THEN running thaw. Nothing. I don't receive a letter from lhotun even after fast travelling to several cities to make the time pass. Lhotun also won't talk to me.

Does anyone have an idea what could be done to reset the quest (with thaw or not)? Is it possible thaw doesn't work correctly with patch 2.13?

Thaw was written after the 213 patch so that should not be an issue.
Other than that, I'm not sure why it hasn't worked, or if it works normally.

daggerfall will always be buggerfall, sad but true

You must enter the stronghold,it will be getting towards main hall that works in the collaboration with Gortwog .In fact it detect and may it works properly.

Hi guys, I have the same issue. I don't know why, but I never met the Underking messenger, so I didn't receive the letter from him and I couldn't start the quest Stronghold of the Blades. Now I'm stuck because I need that quest done to go on in the game. I tried to use this Thaw program, but it doesn't run on my system (windows 7 x64). Any advice please? Thanks!

If you are running Daggerfall under DosBox, then run Thaw under the same environment.

If you have it set up in the .conf file to automatically run Daggerfall after DosBox starts, then edit that file so that it just doesn't start Daggerfall, but the rest of the environment is the same. Then manually run Thaw through the open DosBox session. (or you could point to it in the .conf file)

Can anyone say if this worked? I'm having the same problem, except with Helseth. I have it so dosbox runs thaw when daggerfall opens, but helseth still has nothing to say to me.

I know his quest is optional but I'd like to do it anyway.

Perhaps you have it incorrectly set up?

Well, I tried thawbin and it seems to be utterly useless, I'm afraid. It said that the quest was enabled but she still won't talk to me and give me the letter. I had to travel from Sentinel to Wayrest, so there was plenty of time for a courier to give me another invite as well.

Meanwhile, I have been invited by the Queen of Sentinel to go back and see HER.

I'll have to load a save from last level, which is pretty annoying.

Has anyone, EVER got a bugged out quest fixed with THAW?

Does anyone know where I can get a set of object codes so I can add the letter to my inventory with DF Hack 3.0?
