Does it also capture "normal" souls? Or only those of NPCs?

Doesn't matter. Azura wants her Star restored. You MUST obey Azura.
OBEY AZURA!
I've heard it captures all souls, but that's probably a bug.

Apparently, The Black Star can capture both, (according to the Wiki) but I think it's meant to be a bug...
^ Personally, I follow Nocturnal, Mephala and Hircine...

Yes, I read the wiki, but wanted to confirm, as it sounds strange

My black star takes both human/elf/beast race souls and animal/monster souls.
I think it's a bug, but it's a damn fine one.

Exactly. It's not supposed to take white souls (non npcs souls), but it does. I expect this bug to be fixed eventually though

I don't want it fixed! But yes, I think I already wrote here that it takes any kind of soul. Just out of curiosity, the original Azura's Star is not bugged to capture human souls, is it? I'd like it much-much more then... :3

Nope, I've had both and only the black was bugged.

As previously stated, you're a horrible person for not obeying Azura.
But yes. Yes it does.

As said I believe it can.
...I only follow Azura,Merrida and occasionally Malacath.
