Daggerfall Controls Issue(and some other problems)

Hello, i've recently started playing Daggerfall again, and instead of using my disc, i installed it using the daggerfallsetup bundle, along with it's patches and optional mods.

My problem arises as soon as i leave Privateer's Hold, and the controls seem to mess up. What happens is my character can no longer jump, or rather pressing jumping results in a slight twitch, but no actual elevation. Trying to jump in any direction results in my character doing nothing.

I also lose the ability to to slide left/right, aswell as losing the ability to run for a short time. Eventually i'm able to run again, though.

Whilst i never have the ability to properly jump, when i enter dungeons, the running and sliding controls seem to rectify themselves, whereas in towns or in the wilderness, the controls are pretty much broken.

The movement of NPCs and creatures also do not work properly.

Another bug i have encountered, is when fast travelling, i will arrive at the destination and get a message saying i collapsed from exhaustion(even with full fatigue, and then the game freezes.

If anyone can help me with this, i would be very greatful.

Thanks.

Probably not the most helpful response, but I had imagined that limited movement in the wilderness was a feature. Since you mention having played it previously, I guess I was incorrect and I'm experiencing the same movement bugs as well.

Find the DOSbox options in your start menu. You'll get a Notepad window with loads of settings. Find the line about cycles. It probably either says "cycles=auto" or "cycles=max'. Change it to "cycles=max limit 60000" and the controls will work better. I found after the change climbing and movement worked better.
From TES forums.
