Minor unimportant spoilers below.

In the Ragged Flagon Cistern, there's a guildmember named Rune. You can ask where he got such an interesting name, and he'll say that a man found him on the shore or something, and that he'd been in a shipwreck up north, etc. He doesn't know where he came from and so he goes by Rune for the rune necklace he had on when they found him. You can tell him you'll come back if you find anything out, but it gives you no objective. I found a pile of shipwrecks to the north (about four ships piled on top of eachother) at a location called Pilgrim's Canyon. I thought for sure this was it, but there's nothing interesting in any of the wrecks. Anyone know anything further?

I think it's simalar to the Courier's quest that didn't make it into Oblivion as there is nothing under miscelanous quest or side quest in the guide book even though the dialouge is there.

Ah [&@%!] that sucks. My morrowind character was in the Morag tong. Probably died in the volcano eruption.

I thought about him too and also think that is some skipped content, either his rune necklace is falmer or maybe even atmoran origin. It would be awesome if he is the first atmoran that reached Tamriel since a long long time.

I found a note on a shelf in the Cistern that referred to failed attempts to locate info on Rune's past; I thought for sure reading the note would activate a quest but it didn't.

The only other Runed thing I can think of off hand is the could that be related? Anybody try taking that to him?

This makes most sense. I too found a note like phoult37 did, and nothing happened with my journal.

Oh well, maybe with a patch or something they'll end up finishing all the rushed stuff ? idk.

I hope so. While on the subject of thieves guild, have you ever read a note on a table in the Ragged Flagon that discusses a shipment of glass arrows? Its on the table where Delvin usually sits, by the bar. I tried locating the shipment but I couldn't find it. Any idea if they can actually be found or is it just extra stuff to mislead the player/something that wasn't ever completed?

Nope. Glass arrows are nice though ...

Yeah and the note showed up when I was like a level 5 so I started freaking out thinking a I could get some...no luck though

Just re-read the note from Athel Newberry (No Word Yet) and noticed that it says they have erased themselves from history.

As I was going into the Ragged Flagon what should appear on my loading screen but a bust of what appeared to be the Gray Fox (wore the Gray Cowl, at least) which made me wonder if Rune's parents have somehow come to possess the Gray Cowl and have been erased from history?

Man you shouldn't say things like this, you're getting me way too excited for something that probly won't happen! Haha but that would be so sweet if the Gray Fox made a reappearance

Erm the curse of the grey foxs cowl has been lifted if you don't remember? The bearer's real name is no longer erased from history and mind.

It could have been...um...re-cursed when...um...that thing did......

New Idea
His parents ticked off Nocturnal somehow and she erased them from history like what happened with the Gray Cowl.

Nobody saw that, right?

I want there to be something with this:

An expansion that takes you to find out Rune's past and probably results in you going to Nocturnal's realm.
