1000/1000 achievements, now what?

Well after right at 80+hours of gameplay, I have got all the achievements (1000/1000) on Skyrim on the XBOX 360. It has been a long love/hate relationship, mostly fun and exciting, but other times mundane and slow paced. I have completed all the major questlines and probably 75% of the misc. and side quests. The only other thing that I was going to do is the 10 Dragon Priests (of which I already have 6 of their masks), the 13 treasure map quests, the crimson nirnroot quests, and the 24 stones of barenziah. Does anyone have ANYTHING that they know of that I can do to keep my attention in this game? The lack of really in depth character design has kind of killed the replay value that Oblivion had for me. I played through Oblivion probably 10 times and was a different character with a different playstyle every time. With all the skills in Skyrim helping you level up at once, the role you wish to play is no longer dependent on which set of major skills you pick along with your birthsign.

My gamertag is hondab16tuner, if anyone sends a friend request, just let me know you're from this forum and I can help you out if your stuck in a certain area. Also if you know of ANYTHING that can help lengthen my time in Skyrim PLEASE let me know. I feel bad that the game has been out for 2 weeks and I am already pretty much finished with it. After over 2 YEARS of anticipation, I fell kind of let down.

If you've been playing Skyrim for the achievements, you've been doing it wrong. However, this is not me judging you. This me feel sorry for you. ES isn't meant to be played like that, and you're missing out if you do.

Major Roles or not means [&@%!]-all.
So you level up from Enchanting whether you want to or not; You have the choice of utilising the skill.
You make your own role in Skyrim, same as in Oblivion, difference being it isn't "set in stone" from the beginning.

You got 80 hours, that's about what I got from my mage who I've stopped playing now.
If you really don't wanna start again, leave the game for a while, come back later and play something different.
If you're not enjoying the game stop playing, or you'll burn yourself out on it.

I have got every achievement, but I merely did that so I can do it all over again without having to focus on anything (I am somewhat of a '[&@%!]' when it comes to achievements). I now have started again, taking everything slow and role-playing however I want to play. No fast travel, no modifying difficulty, nothing.

Completely agree with Nightingale, where is your sense of role-play?

I could care less about the achievements in the game, if I get 'em, I get 'em. They are far from the first thing I focus on.

You want something else to do? Make a new character, and play him only how YOU would react to the situation, rather than the epic "I can get an achievement if I do it THIS way" plan. And voila, you're on your way to role-playing. Start with a "man" race first, since it's easier to role-play something you are. Then once that sense has finally hit you, switch it up, play a mer or a beast. There's always new ways to raise yourself in a role-play situation. Always goals you can reach for, and no achievements to get in your way and slow you down.

First of all, none of these comments, please. Not everyone roleplays their characters. Some people just like to play the game. Be respectful of other people's playing styles and don't question them, unless you're going to be polite and say, "Have you ever tried roleplaying? I think it's great because..."

You are all expected to be respectful of other players, and that means their styles. So, please, constructive posts. Or I'll delete 'em.

As for the original poster...if you want something else to do, well, it depends. Are achievements for you what makes a game? Can you play without getting achievements? What if you went back and replayed in a different style, or if you took your time and tried something different - like not fast traveling? Otherwise, it's up to you.

Thank you so much, Avron. I was just about to launch into a ten-paragraph rant against these sufferers of One-True-Wayism who probably call themselves ROLEplayers-not-rollplayers. Before you get smug about your way of play, try asking your girlfriend how cool you are when you're playing video games. Oh wait!

As for other things to do? Well, you could always just wander around and look at the sights. Lots of fun stuff to be found.

Honestly, maybe this variant of TES is not your cup of tea like the last one.

I always retire my characters when I get to a point I feel satisfied with them. This helps me as each new character gets a combination of old and new as they explore the world. By having everything done, you have probably killed your drive as there is nothing unexplored, all mysteries unraveled.

Take with heart you enjoyed the game. However, if your looking for something in the game to keep your attention, it won't because you are trying to hard to find it.

With only ten variants of different starts, I can see where you could say character depth is lacking. However, I have never seen stats as what constructs my characters, its his actions and why he does them. I could make a couple of same built characters, and each would be different due to why they choose, not what they chose.

In short, take a break if your not enjoying it as much, maybe you will play it again, maybe you won't. Nothing ruins the fun like making it tedious for you.

If you've really finished with Skyrim, go play Morrowind! Morrowind is sure to hold you captive for longer, because it has some many more factions and questlines, even if you have already played it.

You could always restart too, and this time take things slowly, exploring, completing misc. objectives and favours, not focusing solely on finishing questlines etc.

Pity you aren't on PC, because mods really can totally reinvent a game, and give a whole added layer of re-playability.

Best. Statement. Ever.

Seriously...If you are playing for the free epeen of Achievements...perhaps Skyrim was best a rental for you. If not...perhaps you should begin to track down every special object in the game or perhaps mix it up by playing again as something you would never play as (RANDOM RACE of Thief/Mage/Warrior classing)

Congratulations. You want a cookie?

Achievements don't matter, if that is all you where going for than you are completely missing the point of the game. It is not about beating every quest and doing every little thing for the sake of winning. Ever try sitting back and enjoying the game? You look like a real a*s by going on here saying "I BEET DA GAME EVERYWUN!!!!!" Because the people here don't play to win, we play to have a good time playing.
Is this a "praise me please" thread?
By the way, this is UESP, we probably already have every single achievement written down and describing how to get them.

The amount of thickness in people's head is astounding. Let them play the game the wayt THEY WANT. It's none of your beeswax. Are you enjoying it? Good. Now leave everyone else alone.

Apologies for what I said, it's just enraging when people play for achievements on such a vast and expansive game. It almost takes the 'game' out of it.

Here is where everybody is WRONG. I DID NOT play for achievements. If you notice, the achievements in the game are for DOING THE THINGS THAT YOU WOULD DO NORMALLY ANYWAY. None of them are hard to get, and require you to do anything out of the ordinary to achieve. Most of the people who responded with "you want a cookie" or "you're playing wrong" show just where the gaming community has gone. Let's start with the cookie response. This is done out of either JEALOUSY, or ignorance. Now as for the you're playing it wrong response. WOW, where to go with this one. Last time I checked it was a RPG game, meaning the PLAYER plays the game how they wish. This means one person can go through as a full power mage, another a sneak oriented player, and another a full in your face tank. There is NO right or wrong way to play the game.

If ANY of you would have read the ENTIRE post and actually comprehended it you would see that the point I was making is that in 2 weeks, the game has pretty much ran dry of things to do. Now while I probably have more time to play than 90% or more of the people in this board (I am 33 years old and retired), I have FINISHED about 75% of ALL the quests available to play. I have even went out and purchased the collectors edition guide to check and make sure I wasn't missing any that I would have not seen the first time. I made a list of the ones I wanted to do and there are really only about 10-15 more that are interesting.

My next playthrough will be either a full mage Elf, or a sneaky assassin. The problem is that no matter WHO or WHAT you are, the quests are STILL THE SAME. Will some battles be more difficult, or easy? Sure, but no matter what it will be the same. There are people on here that play this game a little TOO role-playing for my taste, but that's their decision. There was a guy in one of the posts in another topic that said he slept EVERY NIGHT just to make it like he would do in real life, and was complaining because some of the dungeons took longer than a game-day to complete. Is that type of play for me? NO, but am I going to tell him he's doing it wrong? Absolutely not.

As for the comment about how long I played, 80 hours over 14 days averages out to only about 5.5 hours per day. I play at night between 9 PM to 5 AM after the family goes to sleep. If you want to talk about playtime, I'm SURE there are a TON more players than me that have 100+ hours already in this game.

So was it at all helpful, any thoughts on my suggestion? Just ignore all the people who give you [&@%!], because they do not matter, what matters is you and how you play the game for yourself.

Come on guys, don't do this to yourselves, either saying something helpful, or nothing at all.
